Some places just aren't conducive to reading books, especially the long ones. Such are in the midst of dungeons and the like, you try and read them and you're continually disrupted by rude individuals trying to kill you. Which is a little disappointing. Sometimes it just doesn't make sense to read a book through exactly where you pick it up for immersion/RP reasons, or even mechanical.
