New player a bit concerned about cross faction

Post » Fri Mar 28, 2014 9:48 pm

Hey all.

well, most of the guys who I want to play with are going EP. I don't have a problem with the EP but I really want to play a Redguard.

I'm fairly new to mmo's. What do you think how unwelcomed it would make me if I'd chose to play a Redguard but join the EP?

I don't want to end up being "one of those guys" who are not very welcomed because it is against lore.

What is your opinion on this?

If you want to play as a non-EP race in the EP, you NEED to preorder. The game will not let you cross factions without it.

That said, I fully intend to play an Argonian alt in DC. It won't be a big deal, especially at first when the game is flooded with preorder players who have the same ability. Fortunately, TES lore allows for every race to belong everywhere to an extent. It may not be your homeland, but there are always SOME of the other races hanging around, even in places like Morrowind and Summerset that hate outsiders.

I would not scorn you, just for fun :)

Personaly I will not join with other race in a faction, but I do not have anything against another player doing it.

Play what you want. Everyone else can stuff it.
I'm playing a Bosmer but Idk what faction Ima join. I really want to explore Valenwood and Elsweyr, yet at the same time I want to explore Morrowind and join a less popular faction as I enjoy playing underdog facs in open PvP

If you already have a bunch of guys to play with, you probably aren't going to pay much attention to other people anyway. Besides, it is only a handful of lore fanatics it would bother anyway, and most of those would still accept it as a part of the game. Unless you are playing with a bunch of hardcoe roleplayers, you should be fine. :)

Some random dude in the last beta took exception to my khajiit being in Daggerfall and tried to create outrage in chat. That died quickly when about another dozen khajiits in Daggerfall responded.

Lore....? Some guy was paid to make up a story....

YOu can make up a story just as easily as that guy, what the hell is the difference? He's paid and you're not? Screw him. TES has many mixed Races within diff locations, the lore already made no sense based off of that, They just needed a reason for PvP. thus this "Lore" was created in probably about 5 minutes. they don't really go into detail anyways about why thee races joined one another... Maybe if they had some reason, like ANY reason to join one another, other than "Yeah.,... we're fighting too much, let's join forces!", than it'd make lore a bit more diff for me. The lore of the factions in TESO, seemed a bit rushed, and "last minute", as an excuse to create an FvFvF... Nothing more

Just dont join the RP server OP , most players dont give a damm about your race lore wise.

I think: no-one that matters would care. Seriously, though: I HIGHLY doubt anyone will care. If you're RPing just make up a credible back story - problem solved.

Pre-order before its to late and play a Redguard with your friends in the Ebonheart Pact.

As a player and someone who likes the lore it is fine, but as a RP'er don't expect my character to like you.
