Whirlwind burst builds

Post » Sat Mar 29, 2014 2:35 pm

Hi everyone. I personally have always been a fan of berserker builds and I grew up playing diablo 2 classic and expansion. About from 12-19 years old to present at 23 I sometimes play it with an old friend still, haha. Whirlwind builds have always been super fun and a passion of mine so I am wondering if people think they will be viable in ESO, which revolves around Steel Tornado or the other morph which increases stamina regen. I have been looking at skills and came up with a possibly fun Nightblade build which involves

Immovable brute, which adds melee damage per piece of heavy armor and also using the heavy armor passives which do similiar things and of course immune to lots of CC and stuff with increased resistances for all of a 8 second duration. Then ambush for the teleport strike which adds a possible 35% damage increase for your next attack and then immediatly use Shadow disguise for the 70% + crit increase and then spam Whirlwind into either one of the morphed abilities. Also possibly the vampire ability Invigorating drain for the stun, damage , healing and stamina/ Ultimate regen, Last but not least vampire ultimate devouring swarm which heals you and sends AOE bats to do damage. I have been trying to think of a build which you can burst with Whilwind hard and even make it viable as a single target ability not just AOE.

Please respond with Ideas and your thoughts be it bad or good. Also if you have a whirlwind build Idea in mind please feel free to share. I think after many nights I finally have somewhat of an Idea of what I want, which is a Whirlwind build but I am willing to change other skills of course for modification.

Spinning Lord Harkon ;)

Maybe you should look at medium armor for the stamina regen and so on... just a suggestion.

Ahh true, good point. It really comes down to how fast resources deplete at lvl 50 with enchants and gear and all that but you probably make a very valid point thanks. YES!! haha. Lord Harkon is a beast. Loved him in Skyrim and I hope he is around in ESO. We will have to see. Lets hope no one snags Lord Harkon as a name at launch from me!! If it is restricted because of lore purposes or a player takes I guess there is always Harkon or Harkon of Volkihar and so on. I plan on logging on right when North American servers are up so chances are good hopefully.

Siphoning attacks plus whirling blades plus rapid strikes works very well indeed.

the issue with siphoning is the damage penalty for me to be honest or I would of been on that so fast haha. I am trying to get tons of burst and the -17-20% damage seems like a lot to take away. But of course pve and pvp will be different so I can always change stuff around.

The damage penalty Is not as bad as it looks, the benefits far outweigh the negatives imo.

Li'l Harky V.

Also a fearsome name.

I also think the leeching strikes make sense along with focused attacks. Open with lotus fan, maybe a regenerating path and swirl away. Sounds like fun.

For PvP, I don't know about the whole whirlwind thing, but I imagine you would want higher single target damage.
