How would you build a druid?

Post » Sat Mar 29, 2014 4:18 pm

I have been trying to figure out how to build a druid with the current race/class mix, but can't really find a way... I guess closest would be a Templar with Destruction Staff? Then you could use lightning staff/frost staff or something to do the elemental part, and have heals... just seems a bit, I dunno, lacking for the type of flavor a druid has. I don't know if anyone on here ever used the ex-class "Warden" but were they 'life magic' kind of people? Typically a warden is a druidic type person, and not sure if that was what they were planned as being. Thinking of graphics being stuff like leaves/vines etc...

But, without graphics, what would be closest to a standard druid-build?

IMO the skill line that's closest to a Druid/Shaman/etc is Dragonknights' Earthen Heart.

Another option could be Nightblade's Siphoning, but that one has an evil twist to it.

Maybe a sorcerer with a restoration staff (you could have a destruction staff or bow on your other hotbar). You would have storm calling, healing, and you could even have a winged twighlight fighting for you. You could pretend it is some kind of forest sprite, i guess. :)

I would also look to the Dragonknight for something like this. Fun experiment! :)

Maybe something like http://www.esohead.com/calculator/skills#cz0z9MwAv28wAvz8uELs8Gsbb8uEI185kx7mrsfd6rsfr8l7xrzky6Lzkg8B7Jrzsb8X7zLfLW and then go werewolf for the trademark druidic shapeshifting.

Let us know what you come up with!

All good ideas I suppose... Was going to make a Bosmer (figured the most generically close fitting of races to make a druid out of)

So...

Bosmer DK Focusing on Resto Staff, Earthen Heart, and maybe the Ardent Flame for fire stuff?

Bosmer Sorc with Resto Staff, Summon and Storm

Bosmer Templar with Destruction Staff, Healing, and maybe Divine Wrath?

Bosmer NB with Destruction Staff, Siphoning, and Shadow I guess?

Not sure... think DK and Sorc are prolly most close to the goal...

I can't say that I am very familiar with what other games label as 'druid' class, but to me a sorcerer with storm calling skills and a resto staff would fit what I think of as a druid very well.

It's really going to boil down into a Role Playing aspect to get your druid feel, I can't give you a straight up build for it as I can visualize almost all the classes pulling it off.

Sorc > As mentioned Storm calling for the elemental effect, winged twilight/clanfear for a companion

DK > As mentioned, the earthen heart line, the spiked armor (quills), Manifesting Earthen shackles from the ground to root your foes etc etc

Templar I would view as more of a pure priest than a druid, it's all the "white light" from their spell effects.

Throw on a couple pieces of medium armor (dressed in hides), pull your stealth bonuses from medium armor and "stalk the forest", resto staff for heals. Werewolf line for your Beast forms.

Just hard to find a "real" druid build, its more in how you play the character. I think the closest I could come would be a Storm calling Sorc, Dest/Resto staff and some stealth bumps, stalking the forest in hide armor.
