So, this might be an interesting spin on these music threads. 'Popular' is subjective, so I'll help give an idea of what I mean. You can pick an 'overplayed' song or a song that's just transcended into culture. It doesn't matter if it was popular or still is, it just had to have a 'familiarity' at some point in the song's existence.

I don't listen to so-called "popular" songs because I actually have good taste in music.

It doesn't need to be bubble gum pop music. It just had to have a 'major hit' status type of ordeal. Doesn't matter if it was a hit here (US), UK, Europe, Asia, it just needs to have been a major success of a song.

As popular songs go, it would be the Unicorn song that was done by the Irish Rovers. Not sure of the actual title. Otherwise, my favorite songs are by Man O' War and Weird Al Yankovic. Neither are particularly popular, but have enough of a following to keep going.
