The potential here seems to be massive, and with all the mods available for Skyrim, it appears that a lot of people would reap benefit from it.

Has anyone put it to Bethesda to look at doing this? Or, has anyone heard anything about adding this support?

If Bethesda's next project is a long ways out, and with Mantle being an emergent opportunity that didn't exist before lifetime patches completed, adding Mantle support is a means to boost continued and renewed life in their latest flagship product (for non-MMO players), and keep the brand in people's sight on gaming news websites and online-retailers.

Those are the things which matter more than whether their pre-planned support schedule, which completed.

You can't seriously think Bethesda might do the work required to integrate a whole new API into Skyrim when, as posted above, they have ended all development work on Skyrim? Not only would the cost, in terms of time and money be prohibitive, but it would exclude players using Nvidia graphics cards as Nvidia are not yet supporting it. I'm certainly not going to buy a new graphics card to keep one player, with a silly whiner's signature happy.
