Restartitis - Mod Edition!

Post » Wed Apr 02, 2014 8:41 am

So, I cannot be the only one who does this... Keeps restarting the same Mod over and over and over, tweaking and changing and scrapping things...

I have literally spent about three weeks working on a Mod, and now having just finished the core features, am sat here thinking, "You know, maybe I could do it differently..." and plan to 'scrap' what I have, and re-write the whole thing. I do not know if it is because I had a lot of trouble getting a few features to work, or just my character (I am quite the same with actually playing Skyrim, so...) but yep, that's me...

Anyone else in the same boat? :)

Not quite that, but I've started several, run into roadblocks, and started new ones, so that I'd make at least some progress.

I do at least pick them back up whenever I get a clue to bypassing the problem that stalled them.

Anyone who creates something that requires skills to do, like making a mod, will tend to look back on their earlier efforts and see things to improve as they learn more about what they are doing. Plus, the more you look at something, the more you can criticize it.

I think the key is to, Know When the Say When, or, another way, know when to say, this is ready.

"Mmm, maybe I could've done it differently" becomes "I should've done it differently!" and it generally happens... after I've released the mod. :dead:
