Things you like, and things you don't like about your chars?

What do you like about your characters? And what don't you like? This is a thread I posted over at Chorrol, but there's more people here at Beth (plus it's a somewhat different 'audience') so here we are.

First character I'm going to discuss shall be my very first PC character...

Snaat Rayag, a.k.a. 'Snaaty'

*pic goes here*

THINGS I LIKE

1). He was my first PC character for TES: 4, and I used the console quite a lot with him, teaching me lots of stuff early on. The tilde key on my keyboard got quite a workout during the month of January as I messed with Snaaty's game.

2). He's got a rather unique situation and backstory. He's 'aligned' with all the bandits and conjurers of his world. His 'evil' alignments happened due to my first experiments with the console, I've always wanted to play an outlaw type who is also accepted by other outlaws.. It's kinda nice being able to freely walk in and out of 'bad guy' lairs. His backstory included being freed by the Emperor, yet this pardon was not honored by the Imperials out there, since he still had a 999 gold bounty upon his head upon his release (more console stuff).

3). He's an outlaw. :ninja: A skooma salesman, basically. This is all he wants to do in life. He's been contacted by the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, yet has no interest in either of these factions.

4). He doesn't use his own product very often. He's not a 'skooma head', he's more about the business side of things.

THINGS I DON'T LIKE

1). His questless game is fun for awhile, but all he does is skooma sales. He's really into this, but I find myself more drawn to some of my other games.

2). He makes easy money, a bit too easy. I roll dice to simulate a variety of NPCs buying or selling, and each 'sale' means 50 gold in Snaaty's pocket. Even with a 1 in 6 chance for a sale, and another 1 in 6 for extra doses sold, Snaaty manages to make some serious coin compared to my others, who must 'work' for their gold. Easy money might be a thing some gamers might like, but I prefer somewhat of a challenge, and I get this challenge with my others.

3). Not that all characters have to be studs or beauty queens, but Snaaty's not very easy on the eyes.

4). There's also something about him I simply don't like. Can't put a finger on it. He doesn't go around killing random folks, nor is he a master thief, but there's something in his personality that rubs me wrong. :shakehead:

5). He's not very good with combat. Not that this makes much of a diff. If he has to flee, there's usually a horse nearby for him to steal (usually from a road patrol).

So that's Snaat Rayag. I'm also going to add Kahreem, Lady Saga and Renee Gade III (my newest char), but I think I'd like to hear about some of yours, first.

Clyde Colvent of Aldingwall

Like:

1) He is a battlemage and a scholar. I always enjoy that sort of playstyle, delving into ruins and taking notes about what I notice is different about a particular ruin. Hunting necromancers is also fun, as is running down ingredients for potions.

2) He is also invested in his own little fiefdom via a mod called Castle Wolfspike, so I roleplay Bleaker's Way and Aleswell as being under his protection. I like to play out scenarios where his people request for him to deal with bandits, economic issues and investigate abnormal occurrences. It sort of gives Clyde's money a place to go because he makes a bit too much money from his travels.

3) There is a lot more, but he is also a character I've played since Daggerfall so I'm a lot more invested in this character than my others.

Dislike:

1) It's too easy. He dispatches his enemies with sword and spell, so he's a bit quick to change his method of assault thus making his enemies die before they can do any real damage.

2) Compared to my other characters he is a little less "down to earth," meaning that he is aware of a lot of things my other characters otherwise wouldn't. A bit too knowledgeable.

Phoebe. Breton Custom Spellsword/Archer

Likes:

She's funny and feisty, absolutely fearless. She loves pranks. (For example, when doing Hircine's Daedric Quest, she lured one of the Minotaur guards back to Hircine's Shrine, turned him loose on the worshipers there, and went invisible to stand there and watch. :) )

She's a complete "package." She's a Master with the sword or bow; she can stand toe-to-toe and fight with anybody, or she can stand off and kill from a distance. And she's a Master of several magic schools as well.

Dislikes:

She's too overpowered. She's probably the last serious Oblivion Breton character I will make. If she uses all of her gear, she's virtually immune to everything, and can kill just by reflecting attacks back on her attackers. Only archers and attackers with poison present any threat to her at all, and she can easily destroy them with a spell or two. And yet it's out-of-character for her to not use her gear.

She's too mean for my taste.
