Elder Scrolls Pathfinder game

DISCLAIMER: Fayetteville Thursday gaming group, stop right here and don't read any further!

Now that that's out of the way, I'd like to start by saying that I'm part of a regularly-meeting group of fun-loving tabletop gamers. We're just getting off of a wonderful Fallout-inspired tabletop game, and I'm getting ready to start up an Elder Scrolls game based off of Pathfinder's rules.

As a DM/ST, I know that one important aspect of setting things up is being able to bounce ideas off of other people; unfortunately, the only other person I know who's well-versed in TES lore is one of my players. I can't quite spill my metaplot ideas to him for suggestions, as it would quite possibly ruin his sense of discovery and adventure in the game!

I was wondering, how interested would people be in discussing my ideas/plans/plot for this? I'd love suggestions for new things, or constructive criticism of what I've already thought up and planned. Ideas on working the Pathfinder rules to adapt to the Elder Scrolls setting would be useful, though I'm keeping the alteration of the rules at a minimum: several of my players are new to Pathfinder AND TES, so I want houserules to be as rare as possible.

Who's up for vicariously DMing and playing?

Edit: I should point out that H_Koala also appears to be attempting to convert TES to a tabletop setting. Go, you!

Oh man, I would be really happy to help out. ES lore is my bread and butter.

Mm. Buttered bread...

As it stands, I'm planning on using the Mythic Adventures supplement for Pathfinder; I feel that it can simulate very well the sometimes preternatural achievements of Heroes (in the Elder Scrolls sense of the word).

There are people in my group who are very well versed in TES lore, and there are those who... know that Skyrim is a thing, and it's really cool, and there were games before that but they never played them. It's a big spread. I'm playing to the lowest common denominator, so I'm wanting to start things off slow, and get people into the setting carefully. Don't want to overwhelm them with an infodump and have them shy away or lose interest because they feel like they aren't "getting it".

I'm planning on starting about 15-25 years after the events of Skyrim (around 4E 220, give or take). As part of the overarching metaplot, I'm wanting to involve the Elder Scrolls (obviously), The Towers, the Thalmor, Lorkhan, and the Shezarrine. You might already see where this is going.

Is this taking place in Skyrim? Or elsewhere? Or is that still to be determined?

Elsewhere. As in everywhere, not just Elsweyr. I'm starting the party out in Stros M'Kai; the overarching plot gets started when they'll have to find and retrieve a newly-discovered Elder Scroll in the heart of the Orrery. Once things get underway, though, I'm wanting it to spread (eventually) over Tamriel, and possibly have small plot-relevant excursions to Atmora and Akavir.

I know that they'll have to hit the locations of the Towers at some point throughout the game; this means that they'll be going to Summerset Isles, Skyrim, Cyrodiil, Morrowind, High Rock, Valenwood, and (possibly) the ruins of Yokuda.

I should point out that I'm expecting this campaign to last a long time. At least a year; there's a lot of plot, and my gaming group has been clamoring for a long, involved game for a while.

I'm going to be touching a bit on the political interplay between the Thalmor, the Empire (or what's left of it), and the Dragonborn's new empire. The depth at which I involve these things in plot will depend on how much the party wants it; if they feel it's distracting, it'll be background. If they want to get involved, it gets woven into plot. For the Dragonborn, I'm going to be using my favorite playthrough of Skyrim as the basis: Imperial woman becomes Dragonborn, takes the throne, and kicks both the Empire and the Thalmor out of Skyrim.

Having the game start in Stros M'kai gives me a busy port town and trading hub, giving people an excuse to have most any type of character show up. It also gives me Dwemer ruins for a first adventure or two, and the potential to have a very angry and very undead N'Gasta as a momentary antagonist.
