http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/comedian-john-pinette-dead-at-693981 passed away April 5th. He was a real classy stand-up comedian, and a hell of a guy.

This skit still has me laughing;

RIP good gents.

I am not familiar with Mr Pinette so will confine myself to Mickey Rooney. His death saddens me all the more because he was one of very few surviving actors from the Silent Film era. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_surviving_silent_film_actors currently shows thirteen bonafide survivors, along with a few questionable possibilities. Almost all were child actors at the time, including Rooney. The only true surviving advlt silent actor of any consequence is Carla Laemmle, who appeared as lead ballerina in Lon Chaney's silent "Phantom of the Opera" and several years later played a small role in the well known early-sound Bela Lugosi "Dracula". Ms Laemmle is, as of last year at least, still active! (The last advlt Silent Film actor who most students of the genre agree was of "star" stature left us in 2008.)

PS: I hope everyone realizes that my reference to "advlt silent actors" alludes to folk old enough to play grown-up parts, not its other possible meaning.

John Pinette. You guys have to watch more of his stuff. Not a typical foul mouthed comedian, just a guy that can tell a funny and clean story.
