Help with StormcloaksImperials?

Post » Sat Apr 12, 2014 1:04 am

Hi, guys

I was just wondering if there was a way around this. It's kind of a long story, so sorry if there's a bit of unneeded detail ;P

So around when I'd just made my new character, I went to see the Imperials. I started a quest to clear out Fort Hraggstad, which I didn't have time to complete. I kinda left the two sides for a bit and focused more on the main quest line until I had to get Ulfric and Tullius to attend a peace council. I talked to Ulfric with no trouble and persuaded him to attend, but when I spoke to (or tried to speak to) Tullius, he ignored me until I'd cleared out the fort. After I'd done that, the only speech options were "Sorry, I'm not ready to take the oath" or "I'm ready to take the oath" (or something along those lines haha). Now comes the problem >.< . I want to join the Stormcloaks. I know, I should have joined sooner, but I decided I wasn't going to bother with the sides until I had to / until I'd learnt more about them. I really don't want to side with people who take peoples' religions away.

I wanted to know if there was any way I could join the Stormcloaks or if I'm stuck with the Imperials. Thanks ^-^

By the way, I'm sorry if I put this in the wrong place. This is my first post on these forums

It's the Thalmor who are banning the worship of Talos, not the Imperials. Directly, at least. They're being forced to. But that's beside the point, I guess.

I believe it may already be too late. You did complete the qualifications for joining the Imperial Legion. I might be wrong, however. I would try talking to Ulfric and seeing if the dialogue option arises. Or you might have to talk to Galmar Stone-Fist. As I recall, any speech with Ulfric for the first time at any point activates the dialogue about joining the Stormcloaks, and he tells you to talk to Galmar.

Yeah I know it's the Thalmor haha, just the Imperials are being forced to, like you said :P

I think it's probably too late as well. When I speak to Ulfric or Galmar, they don't offer me any choices of what to say. Just the same repeating thing about going to the peace council.

I think right before the end of the second errand the Legate sends you on, you can change sides.

Edit: You just bring the quest item to the Stormcloaks instead.

Okay, thanks :)

Is this after I've taken the oath?

Yes.

Spoiler
After you get your hands on the Jagged Crown, you can take the Crown to the leader of the opposite side. Giving it to them will make you a member of their side, though there are no options of switching sides after this.

Yes. They'll send you on another errand to retrieve something. Get it and bring it to Windhelm instead.

You must have missed the dioluge that tells you how the Empire fought the Aldermeri dominion off for ten gruesome years? You can disagree with the emperors decision to sign the white gold concordat...but know the real enemy is the Dominion!

The Empire just wants to keep the peace and bring a criminal to justice.
