Turning Sea Water Into Fuel

So the US Navy has developed a technology that processes seawater and gets fuel from it.

Do you think this will be a feasible energy source?

There is very little scientific to focus on in that article, most of it is just political junk.

That said it seems interesting, but they didn't really mention a lot of important things about it as a fuel, such as its energy density or any of the safety issues associated with the hydrocarbon, both of which have been barriers for other energy sources in the past.

There is so little you know science. I can't say with any certainty this isn't another over hyped "science" article with a political bias. Even then something this big would need to be tested and confirmed numerous times over. If this is as big as they say prove it. I remember quite some time ago someone claiming to have invented cold fusion. It's been years and years and he refuses to allow anyone but a close cadre of individuals to "examine it in detail". We're just supposed to accept everything they say at face value. As a "scientist" he should understand we can't just let him do that.

I'm skeptical until I see it, or see more reliable sources.
