Force Field or Shields

I was wandering has anyone made a mod similar to the shield on Master Chief's Armour from Halo. I know of the Personal Shield Generator but it's shield effect is always constant & changes the color of what ever weapon I use to green. And the I downloaded Force Field mod but when I went to look for the item in G.E.C.K nothing showed up as modified. So I figured I ask here to see if anyone knew of a shield like the one used on Master Chief's Armour. Where it only activates when you're hit.

I think this would be kind of interesting, It could be an apparel item that increases DR significantly and plays some kind of cool shader when the player is hit. It could also use up small energy cells and require science skill to use for balance. Maybe with FOSE functions it would be possible to make it only be able to absorb so much damage in a short period and throughout this period have the protection value lower eventually to 0 whenever the shield dies.

EDIT: I actually may take on this project if someone would be willing to help me figure out when the player is hit. I've heard onhit blocks require a weapon ID.

It'd work better done as complete damage immunity whilever the shield is up.

All you'd need to do is check the player's health. If it isn't full, refill it with your stored shield health var. If shield health var hits zero, you drop the shield until it's recharged.

Well I tried to use the Alien Shields on my Armour but It doesn't seem to work. I set the script for it to activate for isowner. since there is none isArmourequiped for the in G.E.C.K. Scripts.
Also there's Personal Shield Generator mod. When the player is hit an effect shader activates and it makes the player look like a solid color for a second. I'd be happy with a shield effect that's redish tent that doesn't over power my weapons texture like the PSG does.

what about creating a destructible, invisible 'item' around the player? I know of a mod that makes everything destructible, and as long as it has the proper collision mesh (i think?) then bullets will hit it instead of the player, yes? Of course, grenades and traps would bounce off it, and it would make the player a slightly bigger target..

Unfortunately that would be impossible as far as I know when using shaders they apply to an entire reference which includes body, armour and weapons.

Now this is something I am looking forward too, I like the idea of different types of Personnel shields ie laser, plasma, atomic, solid etc
people should only be able use one type of shield at a time with delay in shield being raised and lowered. Once it has taken enough damage it could overload or shut down.

I don't see why most game companies that have shooters don't think of something like this. Because it's possible to have a shield only activate when hit such as in the Halo series & shut off once it takes enough hits, regenerates over time & such

I'm taking a look at PSG right now, I might be able to use it as a guide to make my own version. Basically the same except I'd like to only have the shader play when hit and I'd like to balance it by having it consume energy cells.

Well I finally got it a red like color but there's one problem it's the redish tint I can't seem to get rid of on my Armour & Weapons. The shield effect does look cool with my Armour but not the tint that you can see clear as day on weapons when holding them or holstered. If you know a way to get rid of the red tint it will be greatly appreciated.

I figured I'd just post here. Has anyone had problems with Dirty & Purified water no registering as being drunk for Primary needs in FWE? it just started all of a sudden not sure when exactly but my PC was thirsty so I drunk some Purified water but I didn't get any messages telling me I need to drink more or that it quenched my thirst. Is there any way to fix the problem without reinstalling FWE?

Thats right, Yall made me think about it a little. I DO remember there is an alien with a force field from hell that never f**kin goes down! lol
