Sick of Gaming

Post » Thu Apr 17, 2014 1:23 pm

I just find myself sickened by the thoughts of how much money I have pumped into gaming. This is money I can never get back. It would have better been spent on bills vs some stupid, idiotic sense of entertainment for my own selfish purposes of enjoyment.

"Why bother" is the thought that crosses my mind, even when I load up a game that is F2P like Mech Warrior Online. Last game I derived "some" enjoyment out of was Defiance. That enjoyment went down hill and melted faster than a snowball in the deepest pits of burning Tartarus.

For me, personally, I think the last game I may consider buying is FO4. After that, I think I'm done with gaming forever.

Kinda weird, probably stupid, to say all of that on a forum that's an offshoot of a gaming site. Be that as it may, is anyone else sick of gaming? (Mobile, Console, PC, Web or anything else out there)

I sold my xbox a couple years ago, now I only
Play free tablet/phone games. While I don't regret it to the extent you do, I did have hours and hours of enjoyment, (thank you FO3) and the money was worth it because of the return on entertainment. I haven't looked back since and I have gotten a lot more done with my life thanks to not playing hours on end.

I am getting quite bored of most games. I'm just playing free browser games and stuff like that that have you build things that take hours.

I will get interested in it again at some point, and the process will repeat itself.

My gaming has lessened substantially, but I don't regret the time I've spent gaming for a second. Heck, it definitely kept me out of a lot of trouble. :P

But more so because I remember how badly I wanted to get and play those games at the time. And I spent my pocket money on it - it was money allotted specifically for enjoyment so it wasn't a problem. It wasn't like I ditched bills for the sake of a game.

I've never had a problem balancing games and bills. Granted I'm in a fairly lucky position at this point, one of the few perks.

Eh, it seems pretty stupid to me to [censored] about something like that. You spend money on entertainment--it's what people do.

I'm not sick of gaming. I don't play that much to begin with, except for CK2 (best game ever).

Ha, I used to like games and play them often however, I have no interest in 99% of the games out now. Guess I just found other things to do

Besides, with the weather warming up, I can't possibly stay inside! Gotta go out and enjoy life

Edit- I don't think you wasted money btw. If you enjoyed something you spent money on then I would think it was worth the money.

You see it as a waste, but I don't think you're looking at it right. It's merely a means to entertain. Bills keep the electricity going and keeps the g-men away, games let you enjoy an evening. When you think about it, why bother with food? It's money down the drain anyways.

It's just a hobby though. If you don't like it, find some other passion like gardening or something.

I always pay my bills first as soon as I get paid, any money I have left over goes to Wal-Marts, Game Stop or Toy "R" Us to keep them going .

Likewise. I have a number of games now that I haven't even gotten around to playing yet. At the time they sounded like they'd be pretty good but for one reason or another I just wasn't able to get into them. But they're still around on my hard drive, and maybe sometime down the road I'll dust them off and find that I really enjoy them. I also have a number of games I haven't finished yet as well, some going back years. Baldur's Gate 2 for example. I got stuck on a bug in the game and couldn't finish it, and I've been telling myself ever since that I was going to make my way through it at some point. Yet I still haven't, even after getting the EE version recently.

I can read the words in the OP fine, i just can't make sense of them. Sick of gaming? I'll stop playing only if my fingers fall off!

Though i am getting sick of playing Skyrim, it's time for a change. Something with guns, preferrably
