Official: Beyond Skyrim - TES VI #35

Post » Thu Apr 17, 2014 11:01 pm

This thread is for ideas and suggestions for future Elder Scrolls games, and to keep all the discussion in one series of threads.

We also have an official thread specifically for http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1483222-official-tes-vi-location-and-setting-speculation/ suggestions for future games.

Now that Skyrim has been released the number of suggestions and ideas for the next ES game are starting to show up. We have a long way to go before we get another ES game and all topics like this will be closed and either transferred or referred to this one.
Please keep any discussion of Skyrim in the correct forums.

Assuming after Skyrim you mean 4E 201-202 where TESV: takes place (If sequel) . We'll have to go beyond Tameril...Akavir is the only logical choice. I know a lot of fans want to keep this place secret but sometimes secrets must be exploited. While there we see different races, explore the area and maybe find out what ever happened to the Nerevarine.

We haven't even seen the whole of Tamriel yet - and I really think this 'new race' obsession needs to be tempered a little. We have 10 races, each with well fleshed out lore surrounding them. Many people seem to desire new races for aesthetic reason, citing that they want to play as a 'cool snake-guy' or a 'monkey-man'. While these exist in lore for Akavir, I still think it's best to wait before introducing them so we might flesh them out a little. It may be appropriate, in a few instalments, to see a single Akavirian province, but not in the next TES. There's no story-reason to go there. The Thalmor plot-line needs to be resolved first, and that may take 2 more titles. After that, we could have the Empire set up a colony on Akavir after a series of raids (it's been tried before, to disastrous effect), allowing us access. It would bring a good frontier vibe, to be sure. But not for the next TES. Akavir is certainly not the logical choice.
