Top 10 Games All Time? How High Or Low Does Skyrim Come In?

Post » Sun Apr 20, 2014 11:58 pm

Hello' Everyone!

I was just thinking about my all time top 10 games that I have played over the years, and I wanted to know at what number do you place The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim? See my list below of my all time top 10, and see where The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim came in. I have more then just 1 Bethesda Softworks game on my list. This is only my opinion but I think Bethesda puts out some of the best action RPG's in gaming today. Again see my list below, by the way I think I am the oldest person on this forum at 44 years old? I was a Police Officer and was hurt really bad so gaming is what I do now, it's the only thing that keeps me sane. Games like Skyrim, Fallout 3, Oblivion and Fallout New Vegas are my escapes from the real world I live in. I know pathetic.....I would like to see other top 10 list. Thanks for the time....

Shawn W. Collier

My Top 10.

#1. Fallout 3.

(I can still play this game today and be just as into it as the 1st time I played it!)

#2. The Elder Scrolls 5 Skyrim.

(Just me, but I thought Dawnguard was one of, if not the best story I have ever played in any game period.)

#3. The Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion.

( With over 250 levels, there is no way to get sick of this classic action RPG.)

#4. Silent Hill 2.

( Hands down! This is one of if not the most disturbing games I have ever played, and I love it!)

#5. Dead Space.

( 1 word Twisted!!!)

#6. Call of Cthulhu Dark Corners Of The Earth.

( This was such a hard game, because you do not have any weapons half of the time, classic H.P. Lovecraft! If you have not played this game PLEASE DOWNLOAD IT! I promise you will love it. )

#7. KOA The Reckoning. ( This is one of the most beautiful games ever! However the combat becomes boring after a while. The DLC's are cool, but again just to much repeating of the same fight over and over again. If you have not played it you need to, because for no other reason but the amazing artwork of this game. )

#8. Silent Hill 4 The Room

(Again a very disturbing game, that deals with child molestation, some of the story was so disturbing I had to give myself a break between playing it. Silent Hill has always done this. They push the limits just to see how much you the player will take, still a great game. )

#9. Doom.

( My all time favorite "jump scare" games. Doom BFG Edition was a waste of $60.00 )

#10. Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition.

( OK this was more of one giant DLC then a continue of the classic Fallout games, I loved Boon as a follower because he could kill things before they got on you. I loved the weapons in Fallout NV, but the DLC's needed help. Dead Money svcked! Lonesome Road was good. Old World Blues was OK. Honest Hearts too slow. This is the only Fallout game I have ever not been completely satisfied with.)

6 - Oblivion

7 - GTA: San Andreas

I can think of at least another ten before I get to Skyrim. For all that Bethesda did right with Skyrim, they did the magic system such a disservice when they tore it out [which is bad enough] and replaced it with garbage [which is worse]. It's all the more a shame because if Bethesda had just left the mechanics of Oblivion's magic system in tact [...and toss in runes], Skyrim would likely be at #2 and nipping at Morrowind's heels.

For a TES player who preferred the style of play the series' unique magic system had provided, the change made the purchase of Skyrim a waste of money.

Thanks everyone thus far, it's nice too see Oblivion getting some love. I placed Skyrim so high because of the story. I love story games and Skyrim was amazing story telling. I am the only one who placed any Silent Hill games on or in a top 10, they have caught so much flack for the sick sh*t they put into the games. Thanks again for helping me out. I am a rookie to this board so 17 reps not to bad...Take care.....
