No quest marker for next main quest

Post » Tue Apr 22, 2014 1:34 am

Hi again

Have done Liberate Skyrim with the three subquests, Liberate Falkreath Hold etc etc...

Did a few side quests and now find that although "Liberate Skyrim" is still shown, the symbols for the subquests are showing as completed and there is no quest marker etc.

The only thing I can think of is that my unfinished Star of Azura quest could be a main quest (given up on that as can't kill amaylin Verin).

Bit. Puzzled so would appreciate your help.

Muchas Gracias

You can activate and deactivate quest markers in the journal. try doing that.

Oh and with the liberate Skyrim quest. I think you need to report to Ulfric.

Hi. Thanks.

Quest markers are on. I did report to Ulfrich and that bit is shown as done. No other sub sections of Liberate Skyrim and no other quests aside from No Stone Unturned and the Star of Azura which I've given up on.

Hi again

Got down to Battle for Fort Sunguard. Interestingly, this quest is in the journal as completed but the individual task, so to speak, is not shown as completed. The wording in the journal says something like you did help the Stormvloaks overcome a Fort Sunguard......so guess I must have completed that bit.

Can I just visit the next location on the Stormcloak side to see if I can pick up the quest from there.

Get thoroughly confused between main side quests etc.

One final thing- I've killed Alduin but don't think that represents the end of the game does it?

Thanks

Killing alduin is the end of the main quest. There is no proper ending to an Elder Scrolls game.

Really. No acknowledgement or anything?

I thought you couldn't complete the main quest without finishing all the civil war quests but obviously wrong about that as well.

Will carry on with the side quests I haven't done as I love the game so much.

Thanks again

IIRC, Liberte Skyrim doesn't have quest markers except when it's time to report back to Ulfric. It's a sort of umbrella quest, you do the different battles and stuff while Liberate Skyrim is active (and those have quest objectives under their names).

You can play through the entire main quest and remain neutral in the war, but if you want to do the civil war questline, you have to do a few quest of the main questline (up to the point you didcover you're Dragonborn).

I have noticed that most of my play throughs of the Civil War have been like this. The log updates with a description heading that reads like this [ .... ] and selecting it does not put a quest marker on my map. It maybe a mod I run that has done this. Who knows. The quests progress as they are suppose to but it just means you may have to travel around to find the right location your suppose to go do next.
