elder scrolls on pc - do you need a fancy pc?

Post » Wed Apr 23, 2014 8:46 pm

Was thinking about getting the elder scrolls (skyrim) on the PC rather than console as there's usually less bugs and they can easily be fixed with console commands. This also applies for the elder scrolls online.

Do i need a hi-tec gaming computer or will any regular computer be okay?

By default Skyrim is surprisingly light, it doesn't need powerful rig. In fact even several year old rig should be able to run Skyrim with pretty much maxed settings. For example my 6 year old box of bolts can do that.

Mods however can make difference, some graphic mods can choke even powerful modern hardware. Depends on how ambitious one wants to be with graphic mods.

A mid range gaming computer today will run Skyrim just fine. Use the above thread to gets some ideas on the level of hardware needed for this game. If you want some assistance on building or choosing a PC, you can use the following thread
