So when I crouch and steal something, my character stands up. What gives? Could it be a mod?

Are your buttons mapped out in any odd way? Perhaps your action key/button is acting as your crouch toggle, maybe?

It could be a mod, because unless you have a weird keyboard map, the game does not do this.
