You know, one thing that really struck me while watching most of the well known zombies/infected movies is how it always portrays the US Army as the only force capable of hadling/containing the situation. Be it the UK, South Korea or Yugoslavia or pretty much any part of the globe, while the country armies are either completely absent or portrayed as incompetent.

So uh... I was kinda wondering if there's any good zombie movie that breaks out of this stereotype and we get to see other military branches of the world not being idiots or expendable during the outbreak? For example I'd really like to see something from the... Russian/European point of view, if it exists.

The only thing that kinda comes to mind would be 28 Days Later (and even there, the British are sadly absolutely useless) and Outpost 3 (Soviet saboteurs vs Nazi Zombies ).

does "Army of Darkness" count?

Well there's this italian zombie film from the 70's or 80's where 4 out of 6 main cast characters are italian military.

It's called Hell Of The Living Dead and it is the worst zombie film I've ever seen.

Which is why I suggest everyone go watch it.

And 28 Days Later is not a zombie film, a rage infected =/= zombies.

Upon re-reading the title I realize you didn't just ask for zombie films.

As to apocalypse films or infection films... Let me think about that for a while.

Well there's Feast 3, the conclusion to the Feast trilogy.

No military but uh... There is something else...

It's an apocalyptic film all right but with mutants/monsters.

Quite frankly, most apocalyptic films I see are set in the US or England so I guess I don't have a whole lot of suggestions.

Perhaps that swedish zombie tv series I suggested to you before over Steam. But I dunno if it had any military in it.

_{Not sure if this helps but I watched this a British apocolypse show called The Survivors and I thought it was really good and for whatever reason it ended after 2 short seasons. I was kind of sad about this not just because it leaves you hanging but it was really good and had a lot of potential.}
