How to ease I.B.S

Post » Sat Apr 26, 2014 2:55 pm

I think I have IBS (irritable bowel symptom) and I'll be going to the doctors on Monday, but is there anyway to mitigate my symptoms of .... well constipation (for the time being)?

It seems like I have an under-active colon but I'm taking a guess, I'm hoping it's not appendicitis and I don't have the symptoms bar constipation and some pain in my abdomen (it's mild though).

So basically what will make me go  ?

Also this is the second time in about 6 months that I've had the chronic constipation hence why I think it's IBS and it seems to be triggered by processed meat dam you rustler burgers...

Don't eat any gluten, dairy, fatty meats, spicy food, or anything else that could foreseeably cause problems until you're diagnosed.

I've been dealing with some really bad digestive problem myself for a couple of months now, but I've been at school which has made it difficult for me to get it resolved. I'll be seeing a specialist when I get home in a few weeks, but until then (and for the past month or so) I've been on such an aforementioned diet which has kept things at bay.

Have you tried raisins or prunes? or how about organic apple juice? You need high fiber and lots of water.

Don't eat anything specifically with the intention of trying to make yourself more regular. You can include these things in your diet, but your best option is to remove whatever is causing the problems in the first place.

The first time I had these problems was after a junk food bing of cheeseburgers and pepparamis (salami sticks) and all the processed meat must of gave me the constipation but this time I had a cheeseburger and a lot of cheese crackers the day before so I'm not utterly convinced if it's processed meat that's causing it

Regardless I'll avoid processed meat anyways thanks for the advice.

Fybogel and mint.

You could also try eating some sugarless gummy bears.

I read online that laxatives can remove your stomach lining and you can gain a dependency to them, I'm guessing this wouldn't be the case with these?

Oh you'll see... :)

From what people have said, they have a laxative effect due to different sugars used.

This is not a laxative, there are no chemicals or chemically induced actions. Basically, the stuff absorbs some water, which makes it bigger, and it pushes it's way through your intestines like a big meal would. It's basically pure food fiber that you would otherwise get from eating vegetables or whole grains. You can get the same affect from eating two or three bowls of Bran Cereal, which is torture in my view..

Sugar Alcohols bypass the stomach and small intestine and are digested or processed in the large intestine. Since most people don't have the enzymes to break this stuff down, let's just say things get real explosive.

I like to mix it with some orange juice or something similar. It does not have much of a taste by itself. It's kind of like drinking a coarse OJ Smoothy.

As a sufferer because i take alot of medication most of it causes constipation, water and most of the foods they recommend dont do anything but basically end up getting to be part of the problem to get rid of, they tell you not to try and push to force it out because it causes Hemorrhoids, but if you have to you do, you can get small tubes that they call micro enema's they are basically a stool softener and ive found that the only thing to work, and sometimes they can work real quick.

If you want to go without the pain and suffering that is the best option, it softens the stool so you can pass it, and when you havent been for a week it gives you new concepts of pain. I drink lots of water, eat fibre, nothing has helped me, if your systems has a problem, then do what you need to do to relieve it, because you dont want to start down the road of internal Hemorrhoids, and Colonoscopys. And its not a joke when they say rip you a new one.

Mango juice for your colon.

It wont make you go, but it's one of those drinks to help with colon health.

This is what I did when I had gastroenteritis which is IBS's big pissed off brother.
