I've just started the game and I'm not clear how to differentiate between enemies and friendly NPCs.

Basically when I'm sneaking around the city I don't know who to hide from and who is a non threat NPC. It is a pain trying to hide from/sneak towards everyone just in case.

Anyone with a weapon for the most part, and those who look like thugs. I've kind of noticed that anyone who doesn't want to kill you, has a darling little lamb quality about them, especially the women.
