What have you recently discovered?

Inspired slightly by the "off the beaten path" thread, where I realised that my journey throughout Cyrodiil was far from over, seeing as over half of the locations told in that thread I had never seen before. :P The game continues to amaze me!

I've recently discovered what that cabin on the road from Cheydinhal to the Imperial City is. I can't believe I've never done that quest before, with the vampires. :)

I also discovered that the Mages' Apprentice you can have as a follower svckS! Brought him alone for the Battle for Bruma, and he died immediately. :P

Note: No spell is powerful enough to prevent annihilation by Daedric warhammer lobotomy.

I also found the beauty of the valleys south of Cheydinhal :D

Yes, they pretty much svck, this is true. I got all excited to FINALLY have a permanent non quest-related follower in this game back when I was on PS3, only to find they can't even withstand being attacked by a frickin' wolf. My wizard (who was rather big-headed) merely gets cute Apprentices to follow him through the Imperial City instead of adventures.

The only things I've recently discovered are mod-related, so I don't think that really qualifies for this thread, but it's up to you Anglo.

If you want a mage follower you can take Erthor with you before completing the Skingrad quest. He is somewhat useful and essential so he cannot be killed. Of course you have to turn him in to advance the recommendation quest and get access to the university.

I never liked followers anyway cause they always get in my way.

Perhaps we should just throw shield spells on our squishy mage friends? :P

Spoiler
Didn't know there was more to Kvatch than that courtyard. I never thought of staying behind and searching for the count until my latest playthrough.
