Sorry but I have been fighting this game for a couple days trying to get it right, had to make this account, so may as well join the community right? Hello! I am MurderDeth, long time 360 gamer who took a shot on Oblivion for the PC and have been surprised that my rig handles it quite well, almost seems like it handles it better than what little I did play on the 360...hmm...maybe skyrim will be my next attempt...anyway...to the problem

I installed the game at first, and installed shivering isles and all other official DLC (to my knowledge were all installed) ...put the .bsa and .esp or .esm whatever all into the "oblivion/data" folder and checked the boxes next time I started the game, then I patched the game and updated it to the 1.2.0416 version I believe....whatever the most updated version is...problem now is that I can't play shivering isles or knights of the 9

I have been reading and it said to basically uninstall everything because I used the last official patch and didn't need to and should have only used the last official shivering isles patch (is this correct???), so I did, deleted the folders that were still present after the uninstall, wiped everything as much as I could by myself, deleted the remaining oblivion folder inside my gamesas folder...did a clean reboot, reinstalled the game...then I put all the DLC files back into the "oblivion data" folder, then I went to gamesas patches pages and downloaded and attempted to install the latest shivering isles update...and it won't let me update says "old insert random message not sure"

so basically I can't get the SI update to work with my game...so I went back and found all my info out

when I originally install the game I have version 1.0.228, from this version I can (and have successfully just now) been able to install the official patch for the main game of oblivion...just for some reason can't install the shivering isles patch which apparently keeps me from being able to experience the shivering isles and knights of the 9 dlc...help!

I see there are some versions like the D2D version that are extremely picky with patches...but the official main game patch from this site works with the game, I had it nearly beat before I realized shivering isles wasn't there...so I would think if the English official main game patch from this site works shouldn't this be the place I get the shivering isles patch to work from as well?
