The assassination of Aerin

Post » Mon May 05, 2014 6:37 am

So I decidid to marry Mjoll the Lioness and when i visited her in my house in Whiterun, i noticed that this Aerin character was still tagging along with her. So i decided to assassinate him. Didn't know it would upset Mjoll that much so she started to attack me. Luckily I had Serana with me. :D

So have you ever married Mjoll the Lioness and what did you do about Aerin?

Depending on when I did, it usually wasn't a problem. Aerin, unarmed and unarmored, tends to help when vampires attack. He has a less than spectacular record at surviving.

I never thought about Marrying her, but this is an interesting topic. Does he have any special dialogue or use if you keep him around after marrying her? He must be jealous beyond reason.

I've married her 3 times and the key to a happy marriage is to eliminate that creep before you get married.

The way I do it is as follows:

-have her follow, take Aerins key and have her wait out of sight of his front door around 3 a.m.

-sneak in to his house and to his bedside while he's sleeping (he must be asleep in bed), kill him quietly with a single arrow or dagger then shut his bedroom door on the way out (must be shut, otherwise I believe she will see as this didn't work when killing him elsewhere in his home)

-go back to Mjoll, tell her to part ways then immediately propose to her (very romantic)

-setup the wedding then wait til the appropriate time for the ceremony and she should be waiting for you at the altar, blissfuly unaware of Aerins whereabouts.

-you will now be happily married to Mjoll without worry about her creepy stalker.

Eh, Mjoll talks too much. She and Aerin can live out their vigilante fantasy as long as they want.

Why would I kill Aerin?

I only marry Mjoll once and regretted it and have to start over. If possible I want to make him marry Mjoll.

I killed him too. It's like "dude I don't know you, I married Mjoll not you and you're moving in with me". Since you can't ask him to leave there's only one alternative. She got pissed for a few days after then everything was back to normal.

Yeah Mjoll isnt too happy when you kill him, so while he was standing on my dining room table for the second time I was cleaning my crossbow in my entry way in sneak mode, not knowing it was loaded a bolt got away and just happened to kill him (me doing happy dance)

I've never married Mjoll, but meh, why bother killing him, he's hardly a threat - he's been mooning over Mjoll for a good, long time and she's clearly not interested, however much he may have saved her life (it's depressing how many people on the internet seem to think that somehow entitles him to her affections). I guess it's annoying if he actually goes so far as to move in with you, though, but to be honest, I find Riften tends to get enough vampire attacks that he's generally dealt with already, with no need for my intervention.
