Dragonscale smithing

Post » Tue May 06, 2014 7:49 pm

What's the point of getting 100 smithing, taking the dragonscale/plate perk but not being able to get extra XP for smithing because you have already reached 100?

Personally, I think its better if you've taken the light armor branch for smithing and get glass smithing perk, obtain potions to boost smithing temporarily, smith as much as possible with it and enjoy the benefits. I've done this, and my AR ends up higher than having dragonscale armor and smithing that to legendary status!

because Dragonscale is the best light armor in the game, while Dragonplate is the second best (And much easier to make) heavy armor. You are not supposed to get exp from them because that is the cream of the crop in terms of armor.

I know, but if you do any activity skill in the game, you should get XP.

Why though? each thing has a level, you are at max level for that skill. why should you get exp for something your master

Dragonscale is my favorite armor for its aesthetic. Along with darkbrotherhood armor and daedric armor. I hate dragonplate armor.

Sometime to gain XP i just make this skill legendary and start over after I collect lot of smithing materials.

if you have the two DLC, i forget which one, once smithing reaches 100, you can reset the skill to 15 and gain all the perks you put into smithing. useful when you have all the equipment you want.

Because you get the best Light Armor and strongest set of weapons in the game. Not to mention both look ridiculously cool. Except for Dragonplate. It's ugly as heck, lol.

And it's as PKMN said. Why get XP for something you already master, which can't be leveled any further?

If you really want to keep increasing past 100, look into the Skyrim Community Uncapper. I've only ever used it with SkyRe so I'm not sure if it can be used with the vanilla (well, non-SkyRe) game, although I think it can.

I thin that is not come with DLC but with patch 1.9.32 or legendary edition.

Dragonborn DLC added ability to reset your perk without reset skill level to 15. With reset on vanilla you will automatically reset your skill level to 15 if you want to regain your perk point.

I'm playing on Legendary editon for PC, so I've rolled over smithing twice, and now halfway to 3rd rollover @ level 56. Like i said in this thread, I've never gone past lvl 51 before + I have a Rich traders mod. At this point I have 35K in septims. So whenever I get the chance I clean out Blacksmiths and smith like crazy. After each rollover of smithing, you just level up quicker in that skill class each time with mega resources. After all the exploring in the game so far, I still have not come across any generic smithing enchanted jewellery or armor. Haven't had any training either.

Playing on and levelling up past 50, now means its no big deal not getting extra XP for dragon smithing, roll it over and get over it Rodjama!
