Remove all mods from Steam workshop and NMM?

Post » Fri May 09, 2014 10:30 am

I am wanting to start fresh, I did a fresh install of my Legendary edition last night along with adding some mods, the thing is I added that Journal of the Dragonborn mod and since than my game won't even let me get to past the main menu screen, and since the fresh install last night, it won't even let me get TO the main menu screen before crashing so I just figure I will do a complete start over with mods and see if that works..

But how do I erase all modes from Steam workshop AND NMM?

In NMM do I just go and unclick or delete all of them one by one?

No idea on how to do it in Steam workshop as I haven't used that in a long time :(

Thank you for any help, I want to play skyrim again

I never used a steam mod for Skyrim. I have for Torchlight II.

I believe for Steam you need to unsubscribe the mod within Steam. I think you might still have to delete the plugins from the data folder.

For Nexus you generally just need to uninstall the mod. You can also delete the mod but uninstall is all you need to do.

If you were having issues with getting the game to launch than it sounds like a load order issue.

I will point you to a nice video collection that is very helpful for new mod users.

For each mod you got from the Steam Workshop you need to go to that particular mod's page and unsubscribe from that mod. You can then delete the contents of that mod from your Skyrim directory (or first pack it to an archive to be installed by another mod manager of your choice if you wish to keep said mod without Steam Workshop's interference)

Hope that helps.
