Help with sword and board class

Post » Sat May 10, 2014 4:37 am

Comming back to Skyrim this time to play a sword and board kinda class. I used to play archer class and that was easy but i sure as hell loose HP fast this time.

Are there any thing i should consider playing like this? open fight with a bow? Get trillions of health potions? where should i put my points?

there's a lot of ways to increase your survivability

-level your health and stamina(stamina is important for movement and blocking)

-take perks for armor, one-hand, and block

-find a block enchantment to put on your shield (i also put health on when I get dual enchanting)

-find enchantments for one-hand to increase your damage output

-smith your armor, shield, and sword - to me this one makes a world of difference

Invest in blocking so you are more effective and able to powerbash enemies. When using this playstyle I like to make the enemies come to me, preferably when I'm positioned so they can't get to my back or flank me. Using the terrains trees or large boulders is good for this, and doing it indoors is much easier- especially if you can bottleneck the enemy in a doorway.

Stamina can easily be left alone, just use Vegetable soup, focus on health and nothing else.

Learn to block and Shield bash effectivley, Blocking can be a life saver. Also, focus more on Armor/block perks at first and then go for the weapon perks

Unless you plan on being pure melee, its a good idea to use some sort of ranged attacks for certain enemies.
