FF XIV for PS4 digital download or reatail copy?

Post » Mon May 12, 2014 10:37 pm

I'm ordering a PS4 and want to play FF XIV but would like to know if anyone has experience of how long it takes to download, my broadband speed is 120MG but I use a long Ethernet cable, as the console will be in my bedroom. If it takes too long I'll order a retail copy?

I always go with a retail copy as I can re-sell it when I'm finished with it. No re-sale value in a download is there.

That doesn't really bother me, my old games just collect dust. I was getting a PS4 for TESO but as that's been put back I'll try FF XIV instead, it came out in April but I didn't want to get involved in another MMO, so close to TESO release but that's not a problem now, besides all the games that interest me aren't out until later in the year.

You can't really, the game serial will continue to be tied to an account forever.

Didn't know they were doing that with the PS4 versions. Would make sense since I think this is one of the games you don't need PS+ to use.

And has been this way since before Rise of the Zilart with FFXI.

Anyway, get the retail copy. No sense in cluttering up your HDD with a game you seem to know you're not going to stick with.
