Firstly though, a Legend is someone (or something in some cases) which will most likely NEVER be forgotten (unless we all die). Normally a Legend had done something so unique, became so famous, and many other things that they are remembered for what they've done and accomplished. They are even inspiration for future people who wish to get into something similar that they are in. Who know, that kind of stuff...
Now, I think a lot of obvious Legends would be people who are long dead... Like Shakespeare or Mozart. But what about the Legends of Today? The ones who are currently alive or at least been around within the last 50 years? Who/what do you think will be remembered?
Also, for a little fun... Who/what do you think will be forgotten?
Now as for people/things who I think are Legends...
Elvis (I honestly don't like his music but I think it's obvious he is one).
The Beatles (Hate or love them, I don't care. They have a permanent mark in music history for sure).
Freddie Mercury (Singer from Queen. His singing talent is just way too rare and way too awesome. I mean seriously, how many people can top "Bohemian Rhapsody" off?).
Micheal Jackson (I may not cared for his music that much but he was a good pop artist and is known to be inspiration. Plus he really got a lot of famous dances going).
~Writing~
Stephen King (This guy, I don't care what others will say, is just a mastermind writer... I honestly would love to see what goes on in his head for a lot of his works).
JRR Tolkein (Lord of the Rings. Need I say more?).
Stan Lee (His stuff are constantly being remade in many images ever since he started his comics. I don't think he will be forgotten any time soon nor his works).
~Video Games~
Halo (As much as some would hate to say but this game, at least the first one, was a legendary hit in the video game world. It had done much for the FPS genre and basically got the Xbox going since more than 50% of the original Xbox sales were bought with this specific game. We may not have X360 and XONE today if it wasn't for Halo and it being Xbox exclusive console-wise. Maybe).
Also, some classics like Mario and Sonic I would count as Legends as well in the video game area.
