Class of 2014

Hey all. Haven't been posting as much as I normally do due to various things, one of which is this was my FINAL finals week (unless I go for my masters, which, at least I'm not planning on doing right away). My graduation ceremony will be next Thursday, and then I'm all done! Recieving my degree of Bachelor's of Science in Information Systems.

It was a long time coming, I goofed off for a few years at junior college with no real aim. Junior college is also looking to be the only reason I'm not a 4.0 student. I got two B's when first starting out because I just didn't put in any effort and was just trying to skate by like I did in high school. At university, it's looking like I'll have a 4.0 the entire time (two grades aren't officially in yet: one I've already calculated and got an A in, the other I'm pretty confident I got an A in). My total cumulative GPA should be 3.947, just barely missing summa cu?m laude (cutoff is 3.950). Right now I'll continue working where I'm at, but I'm going to put in 100% of my effort now towards accomplishing my goal of working in the IT dept of a hospital, helping those that help others. I'm lucky in this front in that I have the full support of my boss in getting a new job.

Who else out there has just recently graduated or will be graduating very shortly? What's your degree? High school graduates are welcome to post too.

I'm graduating with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing, and I'm glad it's all over. I was taking a 1-year accelerated program, and I had to quit my job because you couldn't work and study simultaneously. It was like 20+ credits every semester, and clinical rotations almost every day. Getting yelled at by your professors, ass-wiping, care plans, annoying families, etc. Then when you get home, study, study, and more studying. Plus, you can't get a final grade below an 80 or else you fail. Now, that's all over. I'm graduating with a 3.57 GPA, which is significantly lower than what I wanted because I'm hoping to be a nurse anesthetist someday. But, I'm focusing on the next step: the boards. I pass the boards, I get my license for the state of NY, and get a job as an ICU step-down floor nurse in the City. Then a year from now, critical care nursing. So, at least I have plan. Still, take it one day at a time.

Anyway, CONGRATULATIONS!

Finished my finals yesterday. Only had one actual final this week, which was technically finals week, but I also had one last week and a ton of papers I needed to write. I also nailed a 97% on my upper-level philosophy final portfolio that was worth 33% of my grade, so that was nice. Graduating with a BA degree in philosophy, political science, and law.

My commencement is on Sunday. Family's coming up tomorrow for the weekend, should be fun :).
