Did Augur of Dunlain achieve (or fail) anti-CHIM?

So I read a thread about the theory of anti-CHIM someone posted a few days ago, and it made alot of sense. And coincidentally, I was also replaying the mages guild story in Skyrim when I stumbled onto Augur again. Augur seems to be a mystery of how and why he ended up as a ball of magic. And the thought ended up in my head that perhaps he tried to achieve CHIM through hate as Lorkhan and Dagoth-Ur did. However I also think it could be possible that he failed, and instead of completely zeroing himself, he managed to stay somewhat intact within the dream. It probably could have been an attempt at CHIM and he saved himself with magic or something on that note, but through his dialogue I get the vibe that he wasnt very loving of anyone, which brings me to the theory of him attempting anti-CHIM.

Would this make sense at all? Or do I have an oversight of some sort?
