Better Heads problem?

Post » Mon May 10, 2010 12:06 pm

Hey everyone,

I have Better Heads installed, and it seemed to be working great until I went into the Balmora thieves guild and Sugar Lips Habasi and that other Khajit downstairs have - what appears to be - the vanilla heads. Any ideas why this may be? Or how I might be able to change then?

Noticed that aswell. Guess you'll have to use the CS and apply the heads manually. But I might be wrong :P

I haven't used better heads in a long time but does it even change beast race heads?

That's actually a good question....now that I'm walking around specifically looking for beasts I'm not sure, there are now 3 Khajit in Balmora with vanilla heads. What mods do you guys use for the beast race heads? Or for heads in general?

Well I don't know which one is the best, but I use BH too.

I don't play beast races so I don't really know but for other heads I loaded VvardenfelVisages to override the stock heads and Westly's heads for my PC. Then I use either Beryl's or Leeloo's Changing faces for a replacer depending on my mood. Beryl's is essentially an updated better heads.

BH does not touch/accomodate the Khajiit heads, so those must
be addressed by other mods in order to be replaced (like Slof's Better
Beasts, Detritus's Khajiit Heads, etc). Not much attention has been
give to the Khajiit (as far as new head models go :( ), but there are several
retextures and additions on the original meshes available.

Ohh alright thanks for the information everyone, so if I check out one of these other head mods and end up liking them better than BH, I'm assuming I'll have to remove the BH .esm file along with the BM and TB ones right? then will the textures and meshes from the other mods just over ride the ones from BH?

UM...? Not necessarily . Some head replacers will show up only as choices of PC heads when making you're selection at the start of the game . ( which is what I do ; giving myself a broader selection of heads to play with ) I seem to remember a thread here that covers head replacers so check that out as well . ( The "NPC " head replacer comparison thread ) If you want to play with something other than BB then ,yes , un-select the .esm's at plug-in selection time 'coz I seem to remember BB over-writing any other NPC head mod . ( I believe Westly is in the process of making a plug-inless head set so look for that thread here too )
