when i go to install i get this error

when i open the disc there is no date or file size for these
data4.cab 0mb
data7.cab 0mb
setup.ibt 0mb

im using the Oblivion GOTY dIsc one
it is virtualy scratch free save a few minor ones, and i an currently doing a toothpaste restore (polish the disk gently with toothpaste and cool water)

i have also held the disc up to light and found no light shining through so no holes, and my copy of bad copy pro hangs on these files (its normally really good with recovery jobs) to see if i might be able to install from the files locally

any suggestions?

Everything I am finding on the points to a Harddrive problem....... If you are trying to install to drive C: (for example) Click on start, then run, (or, just use the search box in vista/win7) type in CMD and hit enter. In the window that pops up, type in:

Chkdsk c: /f

And hit enter. Let it run, see what it comes up with. If it completes successfully, try the install again.

I'm having the same problem, however my disk has small cloudy spots under the surface so I'm guessing that's what's causing the problem. If it comes to it, used games are pretty cheap. I just ordered a lightly used copy with all packaging for 6.99 + shipping on amazon. But hopefully you'll get the disc to work!
