Anyway, last I heard Microsoft was still exploring opinions to keep Halo 2 Vista's multiplayer alive. Steam is likely one of those considered.

As one of the highest posters on their official forums, I can tell you it isn't happening. Microsoft is still making money of Halo 3 on the 360 and until its servers are shut down, it won't happen. Steam and Halo are not happening.
Up until Halo 2. Halo CE and Halo 2 had glorious campaigns that I invested hundreds of hours in. Everyone after that was crap in comparison
Halo 2 Vista is still crap and almost impossible to install anymore (hurray DRM).
Yeah... no it isn't. Ever. Not any of the others, anyway. Halo CE/2 moving to Steam seems feasible, though. Then I might get it
It looks like a nerfed generic shooter? Have you played it? If not, there's really nothing for you to hazard an observation on how it's played then. :/
Enjoy that opinion, dude.
Well... no. I like it here, so I shall stay.
Well 1 an 2 are already on PC you can play 2 on WIN 7, id be really doubtful if they would even release another for PC, after they made it console, after 2 it would want to be alot better to even be bothered.
Steam is the future of PC Gaming, Would be nice if EA would realize that like Microsoft does.
I'd re-purchase all the 2-D Command & Conquer games for Steam if EA allowed it, and integrated workshop support for a centralized modding community. For the latter I would still prefer a dedicated Nexus page to classics like Red Alert 2. I would be filling that up with hundreds of mods and assets in a matter of a week.
I enjoyed the lore behind the series despite it being a little reminiscent of quite a bit of other sci-fi (Warhammer 40k to name another set of game lore, but plenty of other sci-fi fiction as well). I thought the execution of the plot was just ok. Not bad, but not the greatest either. Lots of "deus ex machina" devices used. That's ok, but it felt like they fell into a pattern with it.
Halo Wars would have been more successful if it were brought to the PC. But no, Microsoft took stupid pills and made an RTS into a console exclusive so to exploit the franchise with the intent of selling consoles.
On a somewhat related note, Bungie made the stupid decision to not bring Destiny to PC, despite the fact that said platform is where the MMO market is at.
The original trilogy has a Starcraft vibe to it. The Protoss and Covenant are distinctly different though if you ask me.
I personally thought that Halo 4 was trying to make the universe more 'original'. I thought it developed its story the best it was just too bad that they made it really short. I hope they change that with the next game. The thing with Halo though, compared to other popular sci-fi games, is how large it and its following has become. They have the resources to make it a more interesting universe and they have just now started to expand it with the two book series.
