Temco Koei looking to release their video games on PC

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 4:45 am

So it looks like Temco Koei wants to release their console exclusive video games on PC.

Is the era of console exclusives disappearing and more video games are being released for PC? I mean Microsoft said they will be releasing more of their Xbox exclusive video games on PC for sale.

Halo 3 and Halo 4 was leaked to be released on Steam last year.

SONY said that in the future they will be about software instead of hardware. SONY in fact does have video games released for sale on PC. Including Free to Play (F2P) video games like Ever quest and PlanetSide 2,

Nintendo released some apps for PC. Or I think they did.

Anyways here is Team Koei's interest.

I'm a big fan of Dynasty Warriors and I have definitely fell out of touch with the series since I sold my 360 back in 2012.

I'd love to see them publish their games for the PC.

The closest thing to epic large scale battles that I've seen as of now is the Elderscrolls Online.

Halo coming to Steam would make my life, especially with supported MP. Perhaps a good Halo RTS as well.

I'm a huge fan of the Dynasty Warriors series, but I wouldn't call their large scale "battles" as epic. The only epic thing is the one guy on the battlefield who keeps button mashing and performing those super moves every once in a while :P

They are extremely fun games though. I'm still playing 7.

I agree. ESO definitely needs a proper contender and I think large scale battles with real people could be a great platform for Dynasty Warriors could leverage.

I think DW7:XL didn't come out for the 360 either. They've corrected that with DW8:XL(not worth it). But I guess we'll see with DW8:E, if there is even gonna be one.

Lu Bu owning me on my PC? That sounds pretty cool to me.

I didn't mind skipping out on the DW:XLs so it wasn't that big of a deal for me, but losing out on Empires really svcked. The Empires series was my crack and it's sad not to see it port to the 360.

Nintendo has PC applications?

It has made it's way to Steam, albeit in the form of Halo Spartan Assault. At least 343 Studios is officially publishing on Steam now. :D

I saw that. I'd still like to see MS unlock the chain and allow the others on Steam.

One thing about Tecmo Koie is that they're now getting as greedy as publishers like Electronic Arts and Bethesda.

They've started to follow the Capcom model of release a game... then release an "Ultimate" version of it.

They make stuff I like... but I wish they were less greedy and like EA and Bethesda there will be titles I simply won't buy because of this.

Is what they're doing any different than games (Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim for example) that release their DLC content with the full game as a GOTY edition?

I am not entirely sure but I read like 2 months ago that Nintendo is releasing or released apps for PC on Windows and wants to further expand it to the PC.

I guess Wii U sales are doing horribly? There was also rumors like 7 months ago that Nintendo wants to release a Zelda video game for PC for sale or try a experiment with releasing a video game of their for PC for sale.

Was on NeoGAF I read it. It was a Nintendo conference call or something. Will try to look for more details on this stuff.

I googled and I can't find what I am looking for arg.

Considering they used to be known for strategy games, surprised they weren't already doing this. The Dynasty Warriors series would make sense on the PC. I do hope Temco, not just Koei, decide to bring other stuff to the PC. When I got Deception IV, I felt like the game would be perfect on the PC. It feels almost suited to mouse and keyboard more than to a controller. Just look up gameplay of the game and see for yourself. I might get in trouble here if I link to it as it can get a bit gruesome despite being more or less like an old Tom and Jerry cartoon in terms of how the violence being shown is as far as context goes.

Nintendo actually did dabble in computers back in the 90's and seems like they were doing so in the 2000's; possibly might still sometimes mess around with the PC currently. They didn't develop any of the Mario ones, though. Interplay developed Mario Teaches Typing, for example. Pokemon has also had games on the PC, but they either were card game simulators or attempts at making an educational web based Pokemon thing called Pokemon Learning League. Obviously, it was made for kids. It was around in 2007, but apparently no longer exists.

Pokemon Learning League was made as an official thing, but was more or less based around the anime. Nintendo only really published the PC games and web based games their name is on as far as I know.

If Nintendo makes Mario and/or Zelda games for PC I will die from happiness.

If this says anything, I can't buy the Wii U in my area. Not at best buy or Game Stop, though I haven't checked EB, but mostly like not there either since they are under the same parent company.

Can buy Wii games though.

They are both interested in looking into the PC.

If they release Dead or Alive for sale on PC I would purchase every single Dead or Alive video game that they release for sale on PC. I mean I love playing the Dead or Alive video games. I played one of them a very long time ago on my PlayStation 2 (PS2). It was Dead or Alive 2 I think,

I do remember Nintendo had something Pokemon on PC.

So Dynasty Warriors 8 XL CE is coming to PC on Steam in the US and EU.

https://twitter.com/tecmokoeieurope/status/456775267302637569

Also Final Fantasy III is coming to PC.

I guess console exclusive video games selling on consoles only is closing as years pass by and more of them will be released for sale on PC?

I also found out Romance of the Three Kingdoms XI is on PC but only sold in Asia.
