Exodus is pretty beautiful. Thanks a bunch Bethesda! Funny how none of those "quality" issues came up with ESO. I wouldn't read in to it much.

ESO looks downright terrible, the 20 minutes I saw today turned me off. But I did have the pleasure of watching EverQuest Next, that looks like it could be very good.

Anyways screens looked great, now I'm angry again!

Also, one thing I don't get is that when Skyrim came out the boxes had a little ad for Prey 2. Why bother putting that in if it had quality issues, why bother wasting the time printing them if you don't like where the game stands?

"Man. Those PREY 2 screenshots take me back. So much fun. Such atmosphere. And I named some of those Achievements!" - Prey 2's writer. Bethesda's lying. Plain and simple.

Really nice to see the game is still in the hands of its creators! And screens are amasing, id tech4 still looks more advanced than most of modern futuristic hi-tech games.

What great news this was to wake up to. Even if Arkane has taken over dev. of P2 I am glad to see that it retains the wonderful idtech 4 engine and the atmosphere, mechanics, and story that Human Head beautifully crafted.

This, in my opinion, is the best alternative route to continue on with the dev and release of P2. Here's hoping we get the game that we see in these screenshots!

Absu7d A7tisan, if Arkane's taken over Prey 2, we won't be seeing any of Human Head's/the id-tech 4 version again. Not in terms of design or content. It will be a brand new project. That's probably why Pete Hines was so emphatic in the RPS interview, essentially saying Human Head's Prey 2 is over there, Arkane's project is here. The one you're excited for is dead. I can't wait for Prey 2 in name only from Arkane, especially knowing there was most likely a better game that won't be seeing the light of day thanks to Bethesda's petty actions.

I want Human Heads Prey 2 as much as the rest of you but I disagree about the screen shots. I think most of them look like early beta tests. The demo was much more polished all the way around, atmosphere, graphics, and HUD. I will watch the demo again but I don't remember seeing the weapons listed on the screen at any point, grenades, shotgun, and pistol for example in the screens are displayed in all four corners. It was nice to see a different part of Exodus though the sun lit areas seem like they could be cool to free roam. Anyway, I still hate Bethesda and Pete Hinds is a liar and a sheep as always covering for his masters....whatever DCDeacon!

As I was scouring the webs for any new Prey 2 information, because you know I really really want this game to exist despite the current debacle that is "bethesda and arkane", I decided to check out ol' Nate Cheever's Curious Constructs website. He has finally updated it with the in-game screens that pay homage to shots of areas used in Blade runner.

Check it out here.

Those shots are fantastic! The Bradbury Building + AAA shooting mechanics + Mirror's Edge-style parkour + Aliens + The Prey universe = one of the best games ever!

This has to be the worst project cancellation in the history of games. Nothing tops this, right?

I can't believe Bethesda chose to pursue a by-the-numbers MMORPG and a scripted shooter (admittedly one with a fresh coat of paint) over something new. It's not hard to see why Bethesda has such a terrible track record. While spending millions trying to convince folks that they want ESO, Bethesda cans a project people genuinely care about.

Tibbs, I think you've nailed it in terms of describing how arrogant bethesda has acted these past few years.

Moreover, games that encompass sci-fi/cyberpunk/alien noire-ish genres seem to be quite scarce in the industry these days and on other end of the spectrum we have an over abundance of ww2 clones & modern military shooters.

So, I really hope CD Projekt Red does well with there development and release of Cyberpunk 2077.

And even if Arkane ends up being the dev to slap Prey 2 on their "game", I will still want to play it because at the end of the day, devs are gonna do what they're gonna do and despite it being a terrible outcome, completely devoid of any HH Prey 2, which is what people REALLY want, it's still a continuation of the Prey universe and not vaporware.

And any ip that continues the story of the Prey universe is worth considering if you enjoy the story and lore as much as I do.

Yes, it is a travesty and disaster that we're not playing the Prey 2 we wanted but its better to still be able to have some version of "Prey 2" than to have none at all.
