Children of Narsiym

OOC: Sorry for the lack of IC posts from me.. I've been occupied with writing a story and other things. I'll edit this into an IC post in an hour or so.

Edit:

IC:

After his words with the Khajiit, the Admiral, for the first time in three weeks had relaxed. He spaced out completely, blocking out everything from everyone.

He was daydreaming, his eyes glazed, with a sad, distant look to them.

The powerful voice of Bagul awoke him.

"...Why is it you all ask the Admiral the same question, "How are we going to defeat this beast?", "What do we do when we get there?"? If you were to just sit and wait patiently for everyone to arrive, the Admiral would no have to repeat himself, would he? And I don't know why half of you are asking, you seem fairly reluctant to enter the fray."

The Admiral was beginning to like Bagul quite a bit, the Orc seemed very wise and experienced.

After more pvssyr from various people, Bagul said something that Faurus had wanted to say. "Who is willing to give their lives to help destroy this beast?"

Faurus was slightly disappointed that the man had taken his thunder, but oh well, as long as it was said.

"Who is willing to face Death in the face and quail not? Who here is willing to stand by me, and the other heroes of the age, in the fight that could save Cyrodiil from the embrace of a monster, or plunge it into a worse darkness than anyone has ever seen. Who here is willing to take that risk? To leap at the chance to avenge their families and friend, their neighbors, their enemies, rivals, anyone and everyone you know that has been taken by this... Disease," the Admiral added, standing out from behind the podium, positioned next to Bagul.

"Who here will join us on this quest into darkness?"

He blinked and listened, This aint no god damned meeting, its more like some stupid recruitment show. Lousy and misleading.. he thought, his facial expression showing his discontent with the situation. "And how do you plan on destroying an avatar? A god? Without tools or power of a god to rival it? Like throwing pebbles at a stone wall." he said giving the admiral and the orc a look in the eye. "You havent been very convincing in terms of seeking my masters aid..." he paused and looked at them "Ever heard the saying, 'The victorious strategist only seeks battle after the victory has been one?' You lack the edge in a fight with the tireless army. Just calling these people with a heroic speech and running into a fight or begging for assistance without showing your capable to use this assistance, your throwing more corpses to them." he sat back abit. Wondering how the orc, as irritating as it was would respond. The admiral seemed to have something in mind which he kept in the back of his head. This definitely warranted something.

Varber sat down once more and pulled his hood over his eyes, trying to find sleep once more amongst all this racket.

'To kill an avatar is simple, it's not like they're immortal. They die the same way as everything else, it's just a lot harder to do. And from the sounds of things, this guy isn't even a true avatar. Real avatars are either born that way or are the physical manifestation of one of many dieties. This Currux fellow was infected the same way as everyone else, which means he himself is just a normal person. The real threat is whatever kind of worm is inside him. So if we were to-' Varber's thoughts continued to race on, only pausing to scoff at some of the comments these men made.

'It really doesn't matter how many of you die. Why not waste your lives, they're pointless anyway...'

As he half listened to one of the speakers, a Khajiit, his interest was once more piqued by his mention of him being Carstein's apprentice. 'I knew someone said something about that, but he actually arrived already? What luck these men have... Even though it still won't do them any good unless they can get this Khajiit on their side.'

"Just kill the Khajiit, I'll bet his master would come th-" Varber stopped suddenly after realizing he had said that out loud. 'Tsk, now they're probably going to try and talk to me...'

Hadsin was becoming more and more frustrated with every passing moment. The meeting was getting nowhere. So far all anyone knew was that the admiral had a suicidal plan and some wizard up in some tower or something might know how to kill the big bad monster but didn't want to tell anybody because he's a total jerk. It was becoming obvious that whatever was going to happen wasn't going to happen within the next few minutes.

Hadsin decided he would take this opportunity to try to get some sleep. Quietly stepping out of the meeting room, he made his way back to the barracks. Not even bothering to remove his boots, he plopped down on his bed and pulled the pillow over his head. He silently prayed to any god who would listen that no one would bother him for at least a few minutes.

"Please, please people! Be calm. One at a time, I can't answer four questions at once!" demanded the agitated Admiral, which made most of the banter in the room come to a close. Zared, we were hoping your master would know more about that point. We are not going to rush this thing, we are going to take it slow and go over every single detail, and when the plan is perfected, we will spring the attack. I can see morale-raising speeches and wise talk is not going to do any good. This attack will be planned carefully and surely, and without your master, Zared, there is little hope."

"Anyways, if there are no humans left in a quarantined Cyrodiil, what will your master feed upon?"

He let out a sigh "Then he'd move on to another land, Skyrim, hammerfell or wherever." he contemplated for a moment and looked at the admiral. You cling to hope knowing its futile. Instead of hoping of something, Know it. Hope gets you killed, knowledge doesnt. Ill think about my reccomendation to my Master. Is that everything you wish to say, request or otherwise?' he asked stareing the admiral right in the eyes.

"Hahaha! Do you really, really think the defenses around Cyrodiil would let anyone out? Much less a vampire? They have the borders locked down tighter than the hate between Argonians and Dunmer. They can't afford to let even one infected through the lines, so I doubt your master will ever find a way through, vampire or not. If your lord does not assist us, he will eventually run out of food and his desperate hold on immortality will slip. He owes us for running away all those years ago, when he could have helped us fight."

"So you think he owes you? For something he left for you to fight. Instead of helping you he let you get stronger through fighting the battle alone. I have no knowledge of what transpired at whatever time you speak of. So what happens after he has helped you? hmm? If he gives you what aide you require what then?" he asked looking the man still in the eyes. Not particularly happy about the waste of time. When the admiral -if he had a brain- could have called this debt of a sort in.

"Grow.. Stronger? We lost thousands of strong, faithful men that day. He is asking for composition? I'll give him composition. I'll give him a free Cyrodiil where he can feed on whoever he [censored] damn well pleases," spat the Admiral, tired of debating with this.. Khajiit. "What does he want, Khajiit? What does your master want?"

He shook his head "Calm down and back off. No need to get hostile. LIKE I said Admiral... I have little knowledge of WHAT transpired in that time." he paused for a moment and closed his eyes, counting back in his head from ten "He wants the infection ended just as much as you do.. but being a complete donkey about it becuase someone doesnt wish to waste time on a possible futile effort mounted by someone who could be suffering from many forms of mental issues in a time like this.. wouldn't you be just abit wary? Particularly considering he is a vampire, considered a Monster by many and hunted by more." he let out a mew and then looked up to the admiral then to the others feeling much more uncomfortable than normal. Considering his stay there so far had been..incredibly good as for night time entertainment well of a sort, some of the soldiers were very open and quite different than normal legion. "Your determined, Ill give you that. Ill try and convince the grumpy old man to come down." he blinked abit and stretched his tail a little feeling tired already. he stood up and held out a hand to shake with the admiral, ignoring everyone else in the room. "And you passed my little test" he chuckled.

The Captain was practically fuming, but he pushed down his anger and decided to be the better man. "Thank you for deciding towards my plans. I assure you, Carstein will not be dissapointed! The men in my company although to you it may seem shabby, are some of the most strong-willed people in all of Cyrodiil, we WILL slay the beast Currux, and we will win out freedom. If we don't fight for what's rightfully ours, then we are truly nothing."

"Your master is most likely awaiting your return already. You have my leave to go, although you probably don't care. Also, I assure your lord, none of the men or women under my command will harm him, though I sure a seven hundred year old vampire is more than capable of fending off mortals."

He chuckled lightly knowing the man was fuming "I reckon with how your feeling, a glare could kill him. And I would prefer to have your leave before heading off. Best not be rude eh?" he said changing tone. "I will bring the vampire back here." with that he gave a polite bow and turned, walking past the group of legionaries, giving a light grin to a khajiit as he walked past the male, smirking to himself as he headed out and towards the fort and cave exit. Travelling towards his masters tower.

"It's pronounced Aylied, Mannimarco also died and lost his powers at the same time during the warp, Talos the ascended is eighty percent Lorkhan, killing the avatar would work if Narsiym was aedric, it most likely isn't even divine, this disease is caused by worms, and no, I have no thoughts on the matter."

Slightly agitated by the Breton's response, Laniel let him be. "Oh I know full well that I can't pronounce Aylied correctly, only having misguided adventurers coming into the orrery every month (because they couldn't get any further into the university) asking about them just to go ask someone else is enough to figure that out. And it wasn't the point that the worm king lost his powers it was the point that this Narsiym obviously hasn't if she is the cause so we may find her. Corpus was cause by exposure to other corpus beasts and it was known as divine, which actually was a thought on the matter but oh well.
