Fingerless gloves

Simple question to you armour makers out there. Would somthing as simple as fingerless gloves make a mod incompatable with custom body mods?

Just to be clear, a piece of armour generally completely replaces a body part. If however it doesn't then some skin will remain which draws its mesh/texture data from the body. This as I uderstand is why a lot of revealing armour mods need to be adapted to work with custom body meshes. I'm just wondering if this would be the case for something as simple as fingerless gloves or if there's some kind of way around it or if I simply use vanilla body mesh data on the gloves the game will be able to use that even if there's a body replacer mod in effect. Its a really minor thing so I won't be crying if I have to make full gloves for when I release a mod but I'm just looking into it now as its early in the creation process.

IIRC all custom body meshes even have custom hands/feet. Like CBBE(example), so you can just use the hands mesh and make your fingerless gloves from them. And while in the game the gloves will use the CBBE hands(the fingers sticking out).

Yeah what I'm asking is if I wanted to make fingerless gloves would I have to be concerned about compatability with mods like CBBE or is there way around it. As just for the sake of the gloves its making a lot of extra work for myself when I could just make them full fingered gloves.

There's no way around it, so you'll have to weigh how concerned you want to be with compatibility.

If you make the gloves with a vanilla hand mesh, it becomes part of the gloves. When the gloves are equipped, they replace the hand entirely - whatever body mod is installed - and will change the hands to show vanilla fingers.

The differences in hand meshes between vanilla and (for example) CBBE, is CBBE has added more poly's for a better UV and therefore better look, such as more defined fingernails. I assume other body replacers do the same. Some people may not mind, but it will be noticable, especially first person views.

fair enough, I'll be making the gloves fingerless then as that's how I've done them in my concept but I'll also release a full fingered glove path for those that use body replacers, seems like much less work than doing a different set of gloves for every body replacer out there.

Thanks for the info.

Vanilla hands are also a bit bigger. Those gloves will stick out like a sore thumb on a mixed match mesh set up.
