You have to put the head into the blue flames. If that doesn't work, its bugged.

You can only cure Farkas and Vilkas. To do that, you need to do their radiant quests. Aela cannot be cured since she offers it again should you have DG.

It must have worked at least once if you finished the Companions Quest so what has changed in your mods?

Have you got the request from Farkas or Vilkas to cure them? If not, do a few radiant quests for them, and you will get an option to ask if there's anything else you can help them with (for Aela, that option leads to the Totem of Hircine quests instead).

At least there used to be a bug where you had to cure Farkas first, or else Vilkas would glitch out and not follow you to Ysgramor's tomb, leaving the quest impossible to complete. I think you also had to cure both twins before you cured yourself (if you didn't do it immediately after helping Kodlak). I don't know if these things have been patched (by offical or unofficial patches), though.

Were you able to place the FIRST head in the fire to complete the CG?

Cure Farkas and Vilkas. Keep doing radiant quests for the companions and you'll get it.

So it worked for Kodlack but not you or the other Companions? If it doesn't work for you by simply placing the head into the flame then it's bugged and a reload of an older save is needed. As for the Companions, Aela can't be cured but Vilkas and Farkas can as long as they ask you ( give the quest ) after doing a couple side jobs for them.

How many spirit wolves did you face when you cleansed Kodlack's soul? If it was one then you cured Kodlack but if there where two then you may have already cured yourself. You should only need to activate the flame when it's you and place the head in it, the prompt should come up when you approach the flame.

The quest to cure yourself also can not be done unless you are alone which I find out from somone on the forums. I had been banging my head against that for a while but when I did as suggested and left my follower behind and went to Ysgramor's tomb alone it worked for me. Also it is also true that Vilkas and Farkas need to be done first if you didn't do it immediately after curing Kodlak.

Funny thing is that I ALSO tried to cure myself immediately after curing Kodlak and it didn't work. The only time it did work was when the tomb was empty of all but my character.

I don't think it matters how long after you cure kodlack, you can cure yourself at any time without having to cure Vilkas and Farkas first. As for the being alone thing, I hardly ever take a follower so I can neither confirm nor deny it. OP should give it a try though all the same

You can cure yourself of Lycanthropy only if you have just cured Kodlak or during the Purity Quest (Curing either Vilkas or Farkas).

It doesn't matter if any of the Companions are there, but it might help if Kodlak has departed, and the quest finished notification has shown.

If nothing else, the Vampire side of the Dawnguard questline will cure Lycanthropy. I don't know if Serana turning you will work, tho....

I have cured Codlak. And i have done some quests for Vilkas and farkas. I have 4 glenmoril heads and it seems that i cant burn any of them. Neither Vilkas or farkas say anything about lycanthropy. An interesting fact that i dont know if it matters. I dropped one of these heads and when i picked it up and tried to re-drop it said that it is a quest item and i cant. This means that at least one head is quest related and at least one head isnt. I dont know...Perhaps i burned the wrong head?

No, the head doesn't matter. I had the exact same thing happening which was why it infuriated me, every time I went it was the same thing. The only thing that worked was when I returned to the tomb alone. Give it a try, it might work for you like it did me.

This is what I heard back when I did this. It might have been patched, though, or the USKP might fix it - OTOH, I don't think the OP has said what platform he/she is on.

@ the OP: YOu might need to do several radiant quests for the brothers before they ask you to cure them. If you haven't gotten the Purity quest from Vilkas or Farkas, it's a good idea to always keep a save from before you asked them, until you know the curing has worked. As for the dropping thing, these heads have always been bugged with a tendency to remain in your inventory forever and ever, so I wouldn't be surprised if they are screwed up when it comes to dropping them, too. And if you're carrying four heads, then you're carrying one more than you need since Aela won't be cured.

My first character cured herself at the same time as Vilkas (she had already cured Farkas). He was most definitely in the room since he helped her fight the wolf spirit, and afterwards discovered that she wore an amulet of Mara... It was very romantic, really.

Edit: Sorry, didn't read carefully enough!

That worked out swimmingly for you. :D Congratulations.

Unfortunately not so for me for some reason. I'm glad I was finally able to get it done. I tried while at least one of them was with me but had no result. :brokencomputer:

Maybe it was just my X-Box.

I do know of a way that dont involve becoming a vampire lord but does require you downloading Moonlight Tales in which you can also cure your followers or companions if you have a werewolf or werebear heart n it dot matter how far along the companion quest line you are.

Or it didnt for me anyway.
