so was looking into greenhouse room thing for hearthfire and then found out i cant have an enchanter lab alchemy lab and green house would of been best combo .-.

guess ill save my alchemy + greenhouse for another house

i tried trophy room was good idea in theory untill learned you cant swap the trophys out once built / build a new on in its place

soo what room would compliment the enchaterstower I have ? the library seems ok but im likely to just shove all the books in a crate and ignore or not build the shelves

You can have an Enchanting Table, its a part of the main house just up the stairs.

Nope, you can build it seperately upstairs in the main hall.

Edit: Go to your workbench for the main hall and you should have the option available.

Can't you even get Cooking and Alchemy without a Kitchen or Alchemy Lab? Just in the main house I mean.

Not outside of the cookpot in the main hall. It's good enough for all of the usual dishes but for baking you have to have the kitchen.

The alchemy equipment I don't remember but will be happy to look it up on UESP. I don't recall an alchemy table in the main hall off the top of my head, only the enchanting table.

Edit: UESP does show an alchemy table on a different wall in the Main Hall, South side as well as an enchanters table so the answer is yes for alchemy, no for cooking outside of the normal cookpot.

Just checked, an Alchemy Lab is part of the main house, from the wiki. I have been puttering around Solestheim for the past 2 or 3 months, have not been back to the manors in while.

Main Hall: A much larger two-level building that is added on to the initial Small House. It contains two staircases to each side of the main room, with separate areas in the back on each level. You may add a large bed and two small beds, as well as an alchemy lab, an anvil, an arcane enchanter, a bookshelf with space for 54 books, a fireplace with cooking pot, a mannequin and two weapon plaques, and eight display cases. The Main Hall can include up to 66 usable containers for storage, excluding the Entryway and Cellar. After completion, you may remodel the original Small House room into an Entryway, add a Cellar, and construct additional wings on three sides of the home.

Guess you can't bake is all.

One of the better mods I've found turns that large storeroom right behind the main hall into a kitchen, complete with oven and labeled containers for all foods. I find that storeroom completely extraneous, so it was perfect for sticking something else (i.e. the armory) where the Kitchen usually has to go. Sadly it disappeared off Steam for some reason.

Sherezad's Kitchen or something like that. I need to dig around the Nexus.

You only keep three saves?

I normally keep a minimum of 20 so that I don't have to worry about corrupted saves. That bit me in the butt in Oblivion. I'd recommend you expand a bit so that you won't have to scrap a character like I did.

http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/26016/?. It's excellent--I'm using it now. She also has also http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/37916/? that I'm using that changes the Storage Room in Lakeview Manor to a greenhouse. So my skilled Alchemist has her greenhouse, kitchen, kid's bedroom, and library, all in one house! They're both very organized, with lots of labeled and unlabeled storage, and without all the furniture clutter in the original HF options. And no annoying buzzing bees/insects flying around the house!

You can't undo stuff, but you could just build another one of the houses; there are three.

With previous characters, if they were alchemists, I used Windstad Manor in Hjaalmarch, because it had the fish hatchery, which really synergizes well with the greenhouse. I'd build the alchemy tower (and not build the table in the main hall) and greenhouse, but skip the enchanter's tower in favor of a kitchen, because you're not really gaining anything you couldn't have with the table provided in the main hall. So if you've built Lakeview, you could simply also build Windstad and use a different set-up.

And keeping a dedicated save from before building the houses is recommended: lots of stuff can glitch and go wrong, or you could just want to change something. I've gotten into the habit of collecting all the materials I need to build and furnish the house in one go and just doing everything at once so I can redo stuff if I want to without worrying about having to replay hours of exploring.

I do wish the wings have more flexibility than only 3 of each kind/wing. I envy the PC folks that have a mod for more flexibility.

IMO, HF is a step up from the add-on homes from Oblivion and hope Beth can mess around the potential of diversity more in the kal-, err VI than HF... HF is an incredible add-on, despite the limitation placed for us.
