is there any way to simply re-roll randomized leveled gear like the Thane weapons? I am currently stuck with some weapons, which I dislike, and would like to change them. Is there any way to do that, preferably without any mods?

If your on the PC, just console in the weapons you want. The codes are at the Wiki

Not sure about different weapons like greataxe, greatsword, etcetera.

I think that if you get a greataxe, it always will be a greataxe. Only with a different enchantment.

On my 2H character, I tend to get war axes.

On my one handed character, I tend to get Greataxes.

@Growl: Saving before you get them is of no use, because it is in most cases determined which weapon you are going to get beforehand, e.g. when you start the quest. Furthermore I am not only talking about 1-handed and 2-handed weapon, but also about the weapon quality. I would like to either upgrade or downgrade it in most cases, because getting an Elven weapon as Thane weapon of Windhelm is kind of dumb.

@CCNA: I am playing on the PC, but as far as I know, the Thane weapons are randomized enchanted weapons, which are simply named "x of y" and therefore do not have individual IDs. At least they are not listed on the Wiki, which just redirects you to "Enchanted Weapons" on the "Leveled Lists" when clicking on any of the hyperlinks to Thane Weapons.

Enchant a regular weapon and name it "Blade of the or Axe of the (where x = the name of the Hold). That is what I do when I don't get one that I like.
