For a time I wondered why the Nordic steel plate armor had wings on its helmet, until I re-read that Kyne usually was represented as an eagle or something similar. Anyone have any particular thoughts on this idea?

Seems logical too, seeing as Talos had the Thu'um(or Wulfharth did, but you know what I mean), which, if it is a symbol of Kyne, would make sense to have on Talos. I wonder what the serpent being killed is. Maybe his replacing Shor as God of Humanity?

Winged helmets are part of the Norse stereotype, just like horned helmets.

That's why I said Norse stereotype. Vikings didn't actually wear horned helmets either.

I know Nords are in some way the more extreme fantasy version of vikings.

According to the concept artist, it's based on Hussar and German designs. I suppose the wings of Kyne could be a lore-friendly explanation.

I read somewhere on here that the serpent represents Lorkhan. I could be wrong on that.

That was my thought too when he brought this up with me, but its still nice to think. If I were roleplaying a guy who worships Kyne (usually do) and wearing that helmet, thats what I'd say they were.

Its a theory. Could be, as he mantles Shor. Could be a symbol of that somehow, but the common folk don't know he mantled Shor.

Na, the magic could form just on the very outside of it. Thats what it looks like it does in third person. Lorewise, I'd think maybe, since dragon fire comes directly from theirs. So it should in ours too. I don't wear helmets normally anyway though, and never full face closed ones except the dawnguard one.

I think the wings are generally associated with the Divines as Auri-El is depicted as an Eagle as well.
