Need help naming custom class!

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 11:33 am

I am just coming back to Skyrim after a long hiatus, and I want to play a unique class that I've never done before in any playthrough. Here's the info:

Race - Nord

Major Skills - Two-handed (battleaxe), Light armor, Destruction (frost only), Speechcraft (SkyRe version for shouts)

Minor Skills - Archery, One-handed (war axe), Enchanting, Wayfarer (SkyRe)

Werewolf

This character is basically a typical barbarian with light armor who specializes in axes, but also knows how to hunt and use a bow as well as knowing the lay of the land (Wayfarer). One thing that sets him apart from the barbarian class is his affinity for frost magic, which he had since birth, but cannot use any other form of magic (why? well I'm still working on the background). He is a mountain man through and through with the unique addition of ice magic. All weapons will be enchanted with frost damage, and his skill with shouts will also be high. He will have a very tribal look, with animal skins and bones as armor, as well as warpaint all over. He will also play as a werewolf and use the ability quite often. Trouble is, I have no idea what to call this class! I've only come up with two names so far:

Frostguard - good name but it gives more of an impression of a heavy armored warrior

Snowslayer - also good, but it just doesn't hit the mark with me

I definitely want to have something related to his frost magic as well as something indicative of a barbarian. Now use that imagination and think of something epic! Winner gets an ice cream :icecream:

Sorry if I wasn't quite clear, but I am using the mod 'Skyrim Redone' which completely overhauls the perks and skills. Wayfarer is an added skill in the mod that deals with surviving the land and knowledge of wildlife (used in conjunction with other immersion mods like Frostfall).

Nordic Chieftain

There you go. That name is short, sweet, and to-the-point.

One of the greatest skill trees ever adapted to any game in the Universe.

... be that ours or Mundus itself.

OT :

From Norse Mythology ( Not TES, but TES was inspired form it. )

Maybe something in the links will inspire you, if nothing else.

Without even looking at the description, Berserker would fit imo.

Einherjar, Hersir, Berserker, Ulfsark.

Incidentally, your class reminds me a bit of the http://www.darkageofcamelot.com/content/class-library-thane from Dark Ages of Camelot (although it mainly used lightning magic).

Can you imagine...

As he casts fire from his hands and summons beasts from the underworld. Before he draws a weapon and rips limb form body in all directions.

Oh hey, I'm a Two-Handed, Frost Destruction user too

I just call myself a Battle Cyromancer.

Edit:

For other names: Frost Charger, Ice Knight, Winter Soldier, Cold Assailant

That's all I can think of for now, Of course you can just mix up each of the two words for each and get something else. Ex: Ice Assailant

Wow guys those are some awesome names! Thank you so much!!! I really like Frost Charger and Berserker, they seem to fit best. But I also like that thing about shamanism, and to be honest it really fits what the character is, especially since real shamanism was practiced by the Norse and germanic tribes. So I'm thinking like something like War Shaman, since he is primarily a warrior, but shaman indicates his use of nordic magic. I'm also thinking of having him branch into Conjuration in order to summon ice wolf familiars and ice atronachs, very shamanistic as well! I'm getting really excited about this playthrough now!

And since you all helped me out, you all get ice cream!

A shaman would be big into alchemy as a primary skill, as well as conjuration and possibly illusion and restoration. They'd generally be more magic focussed than your guy, JMO.

BTW when you say you need help naming your custom class you just mean for yourself in your own head right? There is not some part of this game I'm missing where you can create a class?

That's what the Berserker is, a Shaman Warrior. I'm glad you are considering Conjuration. It would only add to what the character would be.

I wish you well with the playthrough.
