Collecting every book in the game

Anyone ever tried this? I plan on starting a Scholar character, whose only interest is collecting and reading books.

Doesn't care about most quests, hires a mercenary to fight for him while he goes to dungeons finding new books, always wears enchanted fine clothes or something, and only uses illusion and maybe conjuration.

With or without DLC?

I believe that Hermaeus Mora's realm contains many unique books. It could be quite fun.

I've never done anything like that, myself.

I'll probably include DLC, but i'd leave it for last.

It'll take forever anyway and i might end up giving up halfway, but it's definitely going to be my next character

I tried once. I wanted every book case in every house of mine filled with books. Eventually I gave up trying to get just one of everything... I was losing track fast of what I already had.

Of course anyone (like myself on the PC) could in theory go into the cqc room and loot the chest of each book as every book in the game is in there. But where is the reward in that.

I've done this in Morrowind and Oblivion, but not in Skyrim yet. It can be a lot of fun, if you're in a collecting mood.

lol, you should download Tamriel Compendium, which adds the books from Daggerfall, Morrowind, and Oblivion....then it's really a challenge. I'm trying to compile a collection of all the vampire books...so far I only Vampires of the Iliac Bay vol 1 and 2.

I tried this as well. I had the RIverside Lodge mod, because it has a nice library and I wanted it full with books. But eventually I had a lot of stuff double and I was constantly overencumbered with all the books I was carrying. I never managed to fill the complete library though, and this is inspiring me to give it another try (suffering from terrible restartitis at the moment).
