Improvements you'd like to see to the G.E.C.KCK for FO4?

I really didn't know where to put this, but with the feels pointing to a new FO4 on the horizon, maybe an enterprising dev will read and decided to push a few buttons to make it happen.

I'm guessing the next CS/CK/GECK will ultimately be based on the Creation Engine, so the CK will likely be similar.

Here's some of my ideas to improve it for modders. You should list yours as well.

1) Sort By function in the editor, so you can sort by type of objects. This is really a must have.

2) Place-able Pivot Point - Basically so that you can orbit around any where in the world without losing control, like you do so often in the CK.

3) 1st person View - probably a massive longshot, but it would be nice to be able to walk around in the ck with a character or object.

4) a decent text editor with syntax highlighting - some may not want b/c they like to use notepad++ or w/e, but it would be nice in house upgrade.

5) Options to map orbit, pan, zoom on keyboard and mouse. What i wouldn't give for Maya or Max controls in the CK.

There was one major one i was thinking about last night, but im sure i'll remember and post it, i'd like to hear your thoughts.

Would be nice to see the GECK for the PC version of Fallout 4 be fully open source. It would be the best thing for PC gamers who are both modders and programmers especially if the PC version of Fallout 4 is fully open source.

I wish Bethesda Game Studios finally gave the full source code to their PC versions of video game engines and video games like how Epic Games is is now doing with Unreal Engine 4. The only reason most of the PC versions of video games developed by Bethesda Game Studios are not fully open source is because of licensing fees. Epic Games however is changing that with Unreal Engine 4. So the next video game after Fallout 4 I hope Bethesda Game Studios uses Unreal Engine 4.

For 3). Epic Games is already doing that with Unreal Engine 4 when you start up Unreal Engine 4 you can actually walk inside the editor in first person view.

They can't do that because they use gamebryo and they don't own it.

As I said Epic Games is making a change with Unreal Engine 4.

Unreal Engine 4 uses Nvidia's PhysX physics engine like APEX and soon will have GameWorks Nvidia's PhysX physics engine was one reason why you couldn't open source your video game engines and video games but Epic Games finally persuaded Nvidia to let this happen. Unreal Engine 4 also will be using SpeedTree soon which you also have to pay a licensing fee and now you get the full source code to SpeedTree and Unreal Engine 4 because again Epic Games persuaded them.

Same thing goes for AutoDesk, etc in Unreal Engine 4.

I really hope the developers of the Gamebryo engine start letting their video game engines go open source like Epic Games is doing with Unreal Engine 4.
