What's wrong with TES! combat, quests ..etc

Hi all

long time :P

been busy playing TESO and I'm enjoying ti immensely, but as I played the elder scrolls online I noticed something odd...

its vastly superior to all other TES titles (except in some areas of course) BUT why would I feel that way?

its easy.....

1-Questing!!! the elder scrolls online has vastly Superior quest lines akin to those found in Morrowind which i consider the best TES game when it comes to quest lines and NPCs, events that change the world, and have impact on it, unlike skyrim and OB where the world felt static and frankly lame and uneventful

2- COMBAT!!! and I cant stress this enough, lets not fool ourselves we play TES games to kill stuff and cast spells and make potions, we don't play them for the educational value, to me the combat system in TESO is leaps and bounds better than skyrim and of course OB and MW.... but there are still games that have better combat than all TES games like dark messiah....

lets make a fun comparison so you will see the light of my wisdom

you are attacked by three bandits :o now I will see what happens in each game (TESO, skyrim and dark messiah) when this happens:

A- in skyrim, you run around and hit the bandits repeatedly until there health drops to zero, you can also abuse the terrain and glitches to get them stuck on something silly and just kill them with a bow or something, u can also drink potions like there is no tomorrow effectively making you immortal, that's your only option rly, you just need to keep your HP above zero...

B- in the elder scrolls on line you have to block and dodge attacks and also use you abilities wisely, you cant simply run back at insane speeds and just hit them over and over till they drop, they have abilities that will slow you down and others that might even stun you, also enemies like to surround you in TESO and so entering combat cant be taken lightly, also you cant drink potions endlessly and when in combat you cant pause the game , which creates tension

C- in dark messiah you have to check your environment, you have 10 ways to fight those bandits and all are equally challenging and fun,

-you can go toe to toe and just try to kill them with your melee weapons, but then you have to be careful and time your blocks and dodge attacks, the bandits will BLOCK and will run away if they get disarmed or injured and call there buddies, IN FACT in dark messiah you CAN disarm the enemy by aiming at his hand or you can try and cut his head of by aiming at his neck, if you fail with your attack the enemy will counter attack and usually kill you outright in one hit, shields BREAK in this game so you cant hide behind them forever, unless its enchanted but even then the enemy will flank and attacks are DIRECTIONAL, so getting hit from behind will almost always kill you.

- you can use magic which I have to say is the most fun i ever had in a fantasy game, you can freeze one of the bandits, or you can use ur fire ball and just knock them on there asses, you can make an ice patch that will cause them to slide over and fall, you can mind control one of them, you can use telekinesis and throw a barrel at there face or just lift one of them if you on an adrenalin rush and throw him over a cliff

YOU CAN light the barrel on fie and throw it via telekinesis at them and setting them on fire :D

you can just burn them to a crisp with lightning or fire the old fashioned way, enemies on fire will run and scream and MIGHT set their friends on fire

-you can use the environment to your advantage.... if your near a cliff... freeze one of the bandits and kick him over and watch him shatter to his buddies dismay, or you can grab that oil flask and throw it at them and set it on fire OR you can set your arrow on fire by holding it close to a torch and firing it at them

I can go on ALL DAY about how VASTLY superior dark messiah's combat is to skyrim or even TESO

HELL you can sneak and back stab those bandits with one strike but their buddies WILL notice you

ALSO in dark messiah if I reach a high place and start firing arrows or spells at enemies the enemies RUN AWAY AND HIDE, they wont stand their taking arrows in the face, hell once I was shoting an orc with arrows and I was somewhere out of reach, he switched his weapons and used arrows and killed me

3- crafting!! in TESO crafting is fun and rewarding and you can make useful items THROUGH OUT all levels and you cant craft an iron dagger over and over and get that skill to 100

in skyrim crafting is mind numbingly boring and unrewarding, I remember in Morrowind in fact when I focused on enchanting I used to enchant papers like scroll spells and gloves and other items with fire ball spells and other spells which actually made PLAYING an actual enchanter VIABLE, I had my deadric summoning scrolls and my fire ball glove and my ice attack glove and my magic shield robe and my healing belt ...etc it was so funa dn rewarding I still remember it fondly.

4-settings!!! in TESO you explore the majestic island of the high elves and the deserts of north and the snow covered lands of skyrim ...etc the game is STUNNINGLY AESTHETIC and pleasing to the eyes and encourage exploration, find that hidden chest or metal vine or that rare herb or an unexpected quest

in skyrim and OB the game setting was boring and quite frankly I out right hated OB map with vengeance, same ruins same caves same OB gates god that was lame and boring

while in morrowind and TESO cities feel more alive, I cant tell you HOW BUTTHURT I felt when I went to Solitude and found out it was 4 houses and an inn talk about disappointing : /, while walking in skywatch or vivic city makes you look and say AHHHHHHH OHHHHHHHHHH

5-Choices!! in TESO choices matter, which NPC you let live or which village you saved will impact your world, and actually change it, helping a city under attack and saving it will turn the city back to normal with NPC retuning to their homes and shops and THANKING U for saving them

while in games like OB and skyrim cities don't get destroyed and destroyed cities don't get fixed, hell helping the storm clocks or the empire does NOTHING, ending the main quest does NOTHING, finishing the guild quests does ... yah NOTHING, the world is static and unchanging

not to mention the utter lack of faction variety in OB and skyrim unlike TESO and morrowind where you have more factions and morrowind goes one step further and does NOT allow you to join them all, you have to pick between the great houses and thieves guild and dark brother hood DONT MIX

6-interface!! in TSEO the interface and inventory are VASTLY SUPERIOR to all other TES games, in skyrim the consolized version of the inventory just made me want to melt my eyes with lava, while in TESO everything has a tab and and icon and you can see what you are wearing on the left on your paper doll, instead of scrolling and struggling to find out what you are wearing.

7-NPCs!! in TESO NPCs are other players you can do stuff with, it goes without saying they are vastly superior because they have personalty and dont get stuck in terrain :D, I got married to a player (in game of course) and it makes questing that much more fun, of course in a single player game the NPCs would have to need better AI and path finding and more than 3 dialog lines, in skyrim i found the companions you can take with you ... a hindrance and lacked depth in fact skyrim as a whole was a game without depth, give us lets say 7 well written deep characters and I can live with that, instead of 50 ones that are pretty much a copy paste of each other

in conclusion, what do i want to see in TES 6??!!! well a better version of TESO to be honest with improved dark messiah combat, beautiful locations, beautiful cities, quest lines that are fun and impact the world, and better NPCs
