Problem with Nifskope and Blender 3d

Hello! I just got into modding and I made a really [censored] sword for Morrowind and succesfully made textures and everything that you need.

When I export the sword as a .nif and open it with nifskope its untextured and it says this: "Could not load texture data for UV editor."

What is wrong??? :( The sword has the textures in blender and the textures are .dds

Are the texture dimensions at a power of two?

most common Texture sizes used in Morrowind are 128x, 256x, 512x, 1024x, 2048x. the smaller texture sizes are older for the most part, or vanilla (some vanilla textures are 64x). Most newer textures are 1024x or 2048x. I have even seen some textures at 4096x, but most machines won't even show a difference between that and 2048x.

What I am trying to get at is that 1024x, or 2048x are probably your best bet for texture size.

Also make sure your textures are located in your Morrowind/data files/ folder path. Most people would suggest they be in the texture folder or a sub-folder with in the textures folder too.

The texture dimensions are 256x256. It's just a test sword so It's not that important if it's high res or anything like that.

I have the texture in datafiles/textures and the mesh in datafiles/meshes. Still wont work.

I opened a model from vanilla morrowind and i could apply any texture to that model but i can't attach any texture at all to my sword! :confused:

Did you assign a texture path in Blender? Does your nif have a NiTexturingProperty and a source texture wiith the path to your texture? Just choosing a texture in UV Image Editor isn't enough.
