Stuff like enhanced recipe lists would be nice, as well as really hack-job looking weapon mods.

Are you also wanting to make survival in the world a bit more difficult? You might look at J Sawyers mod, which among other things uses Survival more than Medicine for health recovery which fits with a Survivalist play. There is also Arwen's Realism Tweaks that is another slant on this type of play. I don't think you should use both, pick one or the other.

Not really, I'm just looking for some new items that will fit with the character.
