Magic - Feeling cowardly

Post » Mon May 26, 2014 1:15 pm

I'm on my new playthrough as a Spellsword, and I entered a Nordic ruin which of course ended in a battle with a Draugr Overlord. Since he was far from me, I shot fireballs at him until his health was at about 10%. At that point I just slashed at him with my sword and it was over...it seemed so quick. And honestly it felt so unrewarding going into the next room to claim my prize.

Anyone else feel this way at times?

nope, especially considering as a mage or spellsword, etc would likely die VERY easily in close range combat.

Indeed I would, I've put quite a few points into health, but mostly magika. I'm trying to work on raising my light armor without getting myself killed :P

It depends. Did you exploit the games mechanics by getting up to a slightly higher ground? If so.. then yes.. I've felt this feeling of guilt.

If not.. you have nothing to be ashamed about! :P

Nope. My battemages are more sword than spell. More mellee fighters. Seldom use magic against dragur overloads, I use shouts instead and then fight them via the sword. My battlemages have almost equal points in health and magicka, a bit more in health.

Never. Magic is true power. Draugr are like any other creature; do whatever it takes to survive. They don't require "an honorable fight," which is subjective anyway. Besides, what's stopping you from getting in close with your fireballs? I do it all the time. Size em up with lightning attacks while I close in, then finish them with my blade. Battlemages are extremely powerful and should never be underestimated because someone might tell you "magic is cowardly." pfft.

Think of it this way. It you had been using a bow, would you feel the same way?
